Sharda University will be a great option for you to pursue B.Tech. While studying at Sharda University I noticed that every college has more or less the same course curriculum. Miscommunications about placement drives are common, like in any other institute. The only comparison you can make among colleges to get a better idea are the placements and the salary packages offered to its students.
My fellow classmates of the 2019 batch had seen 91% placement in BTech. Over 350 companies participated in the placement program. The recruiting companies include Mu Sigma, Amazon, Johnson Controls, iGate, Adani, Wipro, D&B, Tech Mahindra, Crisil, KPMG, IBM, Global Logic, etc.

Sharda University is a reputed institution well equipped with all the necessary facilities. It has a great infrastructure with a 63 acre campus area. They also have a better curriculum than most of the UPTU (Uttar Pradesh Technical University) colleges.
Computer Programming is recommended for students willing to appear for placements. This will work as an additional skill in your resume, during placements. Sharda University provides a great national and international exposure when it comes to placements. B.Tech gets the best of placement at Sharda among all the other courses. Since the main focus of IISC is on research, the institute does not offer any Bachelor’s degree for technical courses. However, the institute offers B.Sc (Research) in six disciplines- Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, Materials, Mathematics, and Physics. The duration of the B.Sc(Research programs are 4 years. For taking admission into B.Sc research programs students are required to take Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY)/ IIT mains/ IIT advanced/ NEET.
The postgraduate programs include M. Tech and Ph.D. The selection for M. Tech programs is based on the GATE score and the students are also required to go through an interview and aptitude test conducted by the institute in order to get admission.
In my opinion, IMS Ghaziabad is a much better option than PSIT Kanpur mainly because of its NCR location. When choosing a college, a factor of utmost importance is where the college is situated because your location will impact your college life largely. Opting for a college situated in NCR is a boon as it will give you a lot of exposure to activities and education in general. You get more exposure to industries and startups and thus getting internships is a lot easier. One more advantage is that you can avail many good coaching facilities in the NCR location which may not be possible in a city like Kanpur.
The campus life is less strict at IMS Ghaziabad than at PSIT and there are no strict attendance rules. The fees and value of a degree are almost similar in both colleges but you can enjoy your life much better at NCR colleges. I am strongly against you joining PSIT Kanpur because
Despite it all, PSIT Kanpur has a 100% placement percentage and will help you get places in CS. Weigh your options and choose wisely.
My friend is an NIT Jalandhar pass out so I can speak about that only. She regretted getting admission into NIT Jalandhar. She faced some serious problems
Faculty: The professors were below average in their teaching methods. Most lacked the basic knowledge and just read out from books. Moreover, if you don’t win their favor you get fewer marks in assignments. This affects your overall CGPA.
Crowd: It will be hard to find a diverse crowd here as most of the students hail from Punjab itself. Even their language is common within the campus.
Placements: Talking specifically about Mechanical Engineering placements, the condition is pretty bad. The average package this year was INR 7.87 LPA while the highest CTC was just INR 8.4 LPA.
Hostels: The first and second-year hostels do not have Wi-Fi connections which is a major drawback. Hostels 3-7 are also averagely built. Mega Hostels have better facilities in comparison to other hostels at NIT Jalandhar.
These are some shortcomings of NIT Jalandhar which might affect your overall experience. You can research the same for NIT Rourkela and make a comparison. In case NIT Rourkela is even worse, then NIT Jalandhar is your last option.
The average percentage scored by most BTech students at AKTU/UPTU colleges is 65-70%. This can be obtained with minimal effort as marks are literally distributed here. The internal marks depend on the student's image and not his performance.
Most of the heads of Departments are just puppets controlled by management. The faculty here is usually from a C-grade engineering college. Also, the lowest form of practice here is to earn more money through evaluation. This dishonesty on the part of the faculty produces disqualified engineers. The Centre Superintendent does not care about checking the eligibility of a faculty.
So you don’t actually need to worry about average marks because marks are awarded for free at AKTU/UPTU colleges.
No, NPTEL courses are not compulsory for B.Tech. In AKTU. These courses simply aim at adding qualitative knowledge among the students. In addition, every NPTEL course grants you extra 3 credits. If you are lagging behind in B.Tech. courses then NPTEL courses will definitely help you compensate for the loss.
So it can be said that for. B.Tech. student NPTEL courses are highly recommended but not compulsory.
