Which is better: BA Hons. Journalism from Lady Shri Ram or Delhi College of Arts and Commerce?

AC
Aritra Chowdhury Posted On : November 26th, 2021
B.A Honours in History & Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology, University of Delhi (2019)

B.A Hons. in Journalism from Lady Shri Ram College is definitely a better option than DCAC. It is way better in terms of campus, ranking, reputation, student crowd, etc. The cutoff required for the institute is also higher. So, you will be among competitive peers. If you don’t get LSR, try to get into other south-campus colleges. DCAC is not included in any of the DU campuses, which is a huge disadvantage.

AM
Amrita Mehra, Posted On : November 23rd, 2021
studied at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore (2019)

Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) is considered to be one of the best colleges for Journalism and Mass Communication in Indore and its surrounding areas. It is also the 2nd best journalism college in Madhya Pradesh.

If you are from Indore thenDAVV will be the best choice. If you are from Bhopal, then go for Makhanlal Chaturvedi University (MCU) Bhopal.

Do not go to private colleges to pursue Mass Comm. as most of them have a huge course fee. Students of these colleges often claim to have irregular classes.

Therefore, the best colleges for Mass Comm you can go for are:

  • Makhanlal Chaturvedi University (MCU) Bhopal.
  • Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) Indore.

If you do not get selected in any of these colleges, you can then go for People’s College Bhopal or IPS Indore.

Do Amity B.A Journalism and mass communication have a scope? Which campus is the best in terms of both the fees and education?

MS
Medha Saha Posted On : July 7th, 2021
Studied at Amity University, Kolkata (2019)

Nowadays, B.A. Journalism and Mass Communication is on a boom and it has a good scope. According to some of my friends studying at the Gwalior, Amity is the best one in terms of both the fees as well as the education.

The Amity School of Communication (ASCO) is one the most prominent institutes of Media education in the Gwalior region of Madhya Pradesh.

  • Firstly, the main focus of ASCO is to make people aware of high-quality media education in the region of Madhya Pradesh (Gwalior).
  • Secondly, to produce highly qualified media professionals – print and electronic journalists, anchors, creative designers, producers, presenters, etc.
  • With a Journalism degree, you can also work as Advertising professionals, public relations professionals, photojournalists, and academicians in the field of media studies.
  • Moreover, the program thus consists of six semesters over three years.
  • Students study 11 different subjects per semester with a perfect blend of practical and theoretical knowledge.

Scope:

  • The growth of social media and online platforms has opened many more opportunities, other than print and television.
  • It has gradually become a competitive field. But due to the constant demand, they will require a lot of professionals.
  • Thus the scope will increase each day.

If you choose to pursue BJMC, then it’s a win. You can look forward to working in the fields such as public relations, television, films, publishing, journalism, editing, direction, etc. Furthermore, the talented and trained individuals in India and abroad are given lucrative and attractive positions as journalists, actor, editor, screenwriters, RJ, producers, and VJ.
