Is Amrita University good for a B.Tech? I got 2800 in the entrance exam. Is going to VIT or Amrita better?

PC
Parambrata Chatterjee Posted On : October 23rd, 2023
studies at Amrita University

Amrita and VIT are very different from each other.

Amrita University has a controlled environment, high focus on academics, and good placements. For a bright career, Amrita is a great place. But its campus life is very dull. One has to find a source of entertainment and growth on our own.

VIT offers a vibrant and lively campus. But one has to mostly rely on self study.

Both the colleges are good for a B.Tech. Make a choice based on your own caliber and priorities.

How is Reva University in Banglore for B.Tech?

PG
Prarthana Gupta Posted On : October 4th, 2021
B.Tech Radio Frequency Identification & Artificial Intelligence,REVA University,Bangalore (2019)

Your chances of growth get lowered at Reva University. If you have a good rank, consider other colleges.

  • The university has invested a lot in marketing and that is why there’s hype outside.
  • Opt for colleges that have a lot of clubs and committees and focus gives importance to cultural activities as well. REVA University lacks this. This will not only develop your personality but also improves your CV.
  • It is a deemed university and the curriculum is not much updated. You will get less opportunities at the university
  • The student crowd is not good, and the people of the college are not cooperative at all.
Categories REVA University
Course Fee 2.25 lakh (1st year)
Highest CTC 10 LPA
Average CTC 4 LPA
Recruiting Companies TCS and Infosys

If you take admission here, you will regret your decision for sure. This is coming after all the frustration of the students due to lack of exposure, and the education it failed to provide.

Is IITM Janakpuri good for a B.Tech?

RS
Radhika Shaw Posted On : September 7th, 2021
Studies Integrated B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, Jawaharlal Nehru University (2024)

An institute relies upon its environment and exposure, apart from that other things definitely only depend upon you. Herein, environment interprets to the competition you have in your batch, while exposure translates to pursuing things in the institute alongside academics.

If you are living somewhere around or in Delhi, then opting for IITM Janakpuri can be a better option than others. The institute offers great exposure in terms of city life. You will get a chance to attend the biggest fests like IITD Randezvou, AIIMS Pulse, and DTU’s fests.

However, if you get options better than this, then choosing them will not relevantly affect you. Make an informed decision whenever you can.

How is Thapar University for a B.Tech?

AS
Anwita Sen Posted On : August 9th, 2021
B.E. Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (2020)

My sister used to be a student of Thapar University so I think I can give you some information regarding the institute.

Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of the TU.

Pros-

  • The infrastructure is really good. You will get Wi-Fi at around 4Mbps, Sports facilities are good, and the accommodation is really good.
  • There are a lot of research opportunities that you can pursue without a lot of questions.
  • You will have to attend college only 5 days a week. You get off for 2 days and you can travel around a city.
  • Patiala is a nice city. It has all the basic amenities.
  • There are a lot of cultural events and societies you can be a part of. The campus is really good.
  • The placements are really good. According to the recent statistics, the highest package offered was 28.5 LPA.

Cons-

  • There are teachers who are fresher in the field of teaching and lack the skills required.
  • There are a lot of cultural activities, but the students raise the money only by the exterior motive of making money.
  • There are societies like Student Alumni Interaction Cell (SAIC), with biased selection criteria.
  • There is the 75% attendance criterion.
  • There is a 50% Punjab quota. You might see people with half your JEE marks in the same branch as you are.

Apart from this, the placement report of the college is good. Just keep your pace and give your best in your studies.

How is B Tech at DU?

AN
Asha Negi Posted On : October 10th, 2022
B.Tech Information Technology & Mathematics, Cluster Innovation Centre, University of Delhi

Cluster Innovation Center is the only Engineering Programme at the University of Delhi. You will not be studying those pointless first-year subjects that are common in almost every other engineering college. You will only study subjects related to your field.

Information technology and Mathematics are included in the curriculum. Aside from these two, you must choose your second major beginning in the second semester. There are three options: Business and Management, Electronics and Embedded Systems, and Computational Biology.

According to the curriculum, you will be required to complete month-long projects in almost every subject. Aside from that, you must complete a semester-long project in the fourth and sixth semesters. Students are generally not accepted by companies during their first two years of college due to a lack of skills and experience, so they must rely on internships provided by the college, which are of average quality.

How is AKTU for B.Tech?

HP
Himanshu Pahuria Posted On : November 7th, 2022
Student at Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam University (2015-present)

One of my cousins is a student at AKTU (Abdul Kalam Technical University). She shared an incident with me which will give you an idea of this university.

During her semester exams at AKTU, she faced a challenging experience. Compiler Design is a subject in the 6th semester of B.Tech. Computer Science. On her compiler design exam day, the question papers were distributed 15 minutes late. It was a regular exam for the new semester. But what she saw shocked her. On the top, it was mentioned - Carry Over Theory Paper Examination. This was a back paper for students who are reappearing and not for regular students. Sometime later a teacher made them change the code of the paper and subjects. All the students were in a panic.

So if you are planning to pursue B.Tech. from AKTU, you should brace yourself for some major challenges.

Is Lucknow University good for B Tech?

VR
Vishal Rajput Posted On : September 30th, 2021
Studies Electrical Engineering at Lucknow University,2021

Lucknow University is renowned to offer a bunch of different courses, within which B.Tech is a freshly inaugurated branch that started anew in the year 2017.

  • Since it is extremely new in cases alike, the placements are not highly fruitful at present. In light of this fact, there is currently no alumni network as well.
  • Unlike many other universities, you are expected to work harder than anticipated, so as to grab a position in the job sector.
  • Your career essentially depends upon how ready you are to prepare in the best way possible.
  • No amount of external guidance can assist you in gaining a fruitful career prospect, let alone the university. Prepare thoroughly while pursuing any course you are inclined towards.
  • You can also choose to prepare for either of the major competitive exams, GATE, CAT, IES among others.

Moreover, only choose Lucknow University if you are devoid of any options. Other than that, there is absolutely no issue in joining Lucknow University.

What is the scope of IIIT Allahabad 5-year courses?

YS
Yash Sharma Posted On : April 16th, 2021
Studied at Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (2019)

A few of my friends are alumni from IIIT Allahabad. The scope of the Dual Degree BTech + MTech course is good.

  • For the first 3 years of the course, the curriculum is exactly the same. All the students (Dual Degree as well as BTech) attend the same classes, sit for the same exams, get the same results together. However, from the fourth year onwards, the specialization courses start.
  • Once you complete the dual degree course, you will be eligible to sit for the same placement rounds as BTech guys. The results of which depend entirely on your knowledge & skills you have acquired during last 4-5 years.
  • However, Dual Degrees will especially help you if you are interested in R&D areas.

The only reason that the cutoff is a little bit lower for Dual Degree courses is that many of you might be hesitant to spend one extra year in college. But for a college like IIIT Allahabad, it is worth spending an extra year. Sadly, in 2018 the 5-year dual degree courses were disbanded due to some administrative instability.

How is the Engineering Science course at IIT Hyderabad?

HR
Himika Roy Posted On : May 9th, 2023
B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad (2021)

B.Tech in Engineering Sciences is a unique program that is being offered in India for the first time. Its uniqueness lies in the wide spectrum of specializations it offers enabling you to explore all your interests and options.

  • Course Structure: The basic structure of the course comprises basic sciences like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and different engineering disciplines including Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Chemical Engineering in the initial years. After 2 years, you are left to choose a specialization of your choice.
  • Suitability: This course is for those who are in a dilemma regarding the choice of branches but you are willing to explore various fields. It’s definitely worth the risk.
  • Curriculum: The first year is similar to other branches. The second year comprises courses from all disciplines like data structures, electrical circuits, solid and fluid mechanics, digital signal processing, etc. The third year will require you to choose the specialization in which you will be doing your courses. It's better to sort your interest by the end of the second year as you will be required to make a project related to your specialization in the 4th year.
  • Choice of Specialization: Students of this program are given complete freedom to choose their specialization and there aren’t any rules regarding the number of people opting for a branch, or a CGPA criteria to get into a branch.
  • Campus Life: It’s important to know that your branch has zero relationships with the campus life you will be experiencing. Students of all specializations stay in the same place, enjoy the same facilities, living with the same people.
  • Internships: Excellent internship opportunities are offered to the students of Engineering Science with some even interning at Amazon, ADP, Aerospace, IDRBT, ISI, etc. Basically, there are plentiful opportunities and your internships and placements depend on your efforts, projects, and academics.
  • Degree: This program awards you a degree of B.Tech in Engineering Sciences with specialization in whichever field you choose.

Ultimately, the final decision rests with you!
