My friend completed his B.Tech Electronics at SRCOEM. So I can give you a general idea of the overall condition of this college at present. The college has a legacy of its own. It is backed by politician Banwarilal Purohit, so it does not face any issues related to funding.
RCOEM was in a good position earlier. But now, the senior faculties have taken administrative roles, and seldom care about their lectures. The new faculty, on the other hand, lacks experience and knowledge. Some of the faculty members mistreat freshers and punish them for the smallest of mistakes.
Most of the college placements are in IT support roles, which are worthless in the long run. The T&P department scares the students about remaining jobless if they do not get placed in IT companies. The best way to become job ready at SRCOE is to join online courses and enhance one’s skill set on our own. The college fests aren’t good. The students mainly participate in them to make up for their poor academic performance.
Thus, I wouldn’t recommend you to keep SRCOEM as your first choice.
MCA is offered by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the college. You will be given admission to the program on the basis of your result from NIMCET which is to be given for MCA. This is a common entrance test.
There are about 93 seats for this program if you are a graduate of an Indian University. Moreover, seats are also reserved for students from SC, ST, OBC, and physically disabled. These reservations are made as per MHRD, Government of India, and their guidelines.
You might want to know the eligibility requirement for admission to MNIT as well:
As of 2021, the total fees for MCA are INR 1.13 lakhs for the first year. To get the detailed fee structure visit the official website.
My younger brother is from this Institute, so I am aware of the situation here.
In all, you will not regret choosing NIT Trichy.
There are numerous best colleges in Bangalore which offer MCA degrees with good placement. But Jain University is one of the best universities to pursue MCA. Jain University has professional and experienced faculty and also provides good infrastructure.

Therefore, you can choose any above-mentioned college in Bangalore. All of them are considered as top institutes for Master in Computer Application (MCA). As Bangalore city is called the Silicon Valley of India, you will get a wider exposure during your study.
JNU placements for MCA are good. Some of the major recruiters for MCA are Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, etc. Students usually receive an average CTC of around INR 4-5 LPA. While the highest CTC goes up to INR 9-11 LPA.
But JNU is a research-oriented university. If you want excellent placement in the technical field, it will be better to join the top IIT or NIT. You will get better technological exposure at these institutes.

Lab attendance is mandatory for MCA. Scoring passing marks in lab examinations will be difficult if you don’t attend labs and practical classes regularly.
You can’t take the coursework lightly, even if it is a distance learning course.
In US, Indian software engineers earn around $60k-$80k in entry-level jobs. After 3-5 years of work experience, the salary amount becomes $90k-$130k. For software engineering professionals with around 5-10 years of experience, the salary package is around $130-$200k.
Jobs in the Software industry have little to do with the university you graduated from. The international recruiters look for skills. If you have industry-relevant skills, you will receive good placement opportunities. After doing an MCA you can get jobs in US, if you fulfill the skill requirement.
One of my friends studied at Thapar University. According to him, pursuing MCA at Thapar might not be a good choice. This is because a B.Tech in CSE graduate is always preferred over an MCA degree.
Category | MCA at Thapar University |
Total Fee | 3.89 lakh |
Companies Visited | Tech Mahindra, Infosys, ZS Associates, Byju’s, etc. |
Highest Package | 23 LPA |
Average Package | 5-10 LPA |
MCA at Thapar is way better than many other colleges like CGC Landran, Chandigarh University, etc. But it is important to remember that the recruiter at any IT company will always differentiate between an MCA graduate and a B.Tech CS graduate.
It's the case not just at NITT, but everywhere. It entirely depends on the visiting firm and whether they value your school percentages.
The placement cell will have all of your information entered into their placement portal, and they will be aware of everything, so if you give the firm an erroneous résumé, whether intentionally or unintentionally, they will be notified. Because there are so many students, your college will try to set minimum eligibility standards for them by requesting or something similar.
To make things clearer, I'll give you an example.
However, if a random startup comes along and offers a nice, attractive package and has policy rules similar to the ones listed above. But the placement cell can request them to ease the criteria if students have low scores. It now hinges on the company's reputation. It is applicable to every institute.
In 2011, a Placement Coordination Cell (PCC) was established in BHU to take full responsibility for placements of the entire university (except IIT/IMS).
This body has improved the placement drives at BHU to a large extent. BHU is now visited by reputed firms for recruitment.
As far as CTC is concerned, nearly 18% to 20% of students were placed this year. The highest salary was 4.5 LPA. The lowest salary was 3.5 LPA and the average salary was 4.2 LPA.
