What should I do, Sardar Patel college of engineering mechanical or college of engineering Pune civil?

AB
Akash Banerjee Posted On : March 31st, 2022
studied at Sardar Patel College of Engineering

If we compare these colleges based only on brand value and reputation, then COEP is way ahead of SPCE.

But you should prioritize your branch of choice while choosing an institute. Civil and Mechanical engineering, both these are core branches of engineering and have their advantages and disadvantages. Mechanical Engineering will give you exposure to a variety of branches like Automobile, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Thermal, etc. If you are genuinely interested in Mechanical Engineering, you can go to Sardar Patel College of Engineering. They have a good faculty base for the branch.

If you are flexible regarding your branch choice, you can choose COEP Civil. The institute offers a branch change option after completion of the first year too.

If I am interested in mechanical engineering, which is better, COEP, the College of Engineering Pune, or VJTI in Mumbai, and are they both comparable to VNIT in Nagpur?

SG
Sarita Gupta Posted On : January 16th, 2021
Studied B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at VNIT Nagpur, (2019)

As a student you should check the following areas and take them into consideration while choosing a particular institution.

Research- VNIT, and COEP beats VJTI in these criteria. Students can do research here under college professors on winter vacations.

Placements-

  • VNIT provides unpaid internships to students through the alumni association.
  • IT companies offer job opportunities to people from computer science, electronics, electrical with a CGPA of 7. The same scenario is present in VJTI and COEP. They may provide better opportunities than VNIT.
  • However, there are decent placements for mechanical engineering both in VJTI and VNIT.

  • VNIT is best in terms of campus life. There are ample hostel facilities for the students.
  • Students can interact and socialize with people not only from Maharashtra but from all over India.
  • There are almost eight batches for the department with 60-90 students.

Student Activities- VNIT excels in expectations than COEP & VJTI with myriad festivals, clubs, and extra-curricular.

Research after Bachelors’- Lots of VNIT students get themselves into research work after their graduation. However, there is no available information for VJTI and COEP.

Considering all the aspects listed above, VNIT seems a better choice for mechanical engineering than COEP Pune and VJTI Mumbai.

Is ICT Mumbai better than the computer of COEP?

AR
Aman Raj Posted On : January 28th, 2021
B.Tech Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering & Computer Engineering Minor, COEP, 2019

Chemical Engineering and computer science are two completely different subjects, even though they belong to one broad stream of Engineering. The student needs to decide first your stream of specialization, which course they are interested to study. If your answer is chemical engineering then ICT Mumbai is the best option.

There should be three solid reasons behind a student selecting ICT Mumbai, which are:

  • The quality of education, faculty, and placements is on par with the IITs. The ICT Mumbai campus is known for its lively culture along with the organization of multiple technical and cultural fests.
  • A student will enjoy an out-and-out exposure, gaining theoretical knowledge in class and simultaneously putting them into practice during their practical ventures.
  • The placement rate in ICT Mumbai is good, the only set-back is that it is restricted to chemical engineering only.

If a student has decided to study chemical engineering and his following plans are along the lines of the reasons mentioned above, then ICT Mumbai is his/her place to be.

ICT Mumbai is only best in chemical engineering, not computer science. Similarly, COEP is the best for computer science and not chemical engineering. Therefore, the student should get a surety on the subject they want to pursue and then go to the college that is best for that particular stream.
