When IIM Kashipur is the most apt for Operations among the new IIMs, then why does the maximum placement there happens in Finance and Marketing?

The Institute does not award diplomas in specific fields such as operations, finance, and marketing. As a result, students of any major are always eligible to apply for any job. Many students enter the second year with the intention of majoring in Operations, but they end up majoring in other fields for personal reasons.

- Locational Advantage: Both have a geographical advantage. Ranchi is near XLRI, Jsr. Trichy is conveniently located between Bangalore and Chennai. Trichy is also home to NIT Trichy, the best NIT in the country.
- Perception: Trichy's perception is rapidly expanding. It is fairly obvious from all B-school rankings. So, with the exception of marketing, you can choose IIM Trichy over IIM Ranchi for any specialization. Ranchi's marketing is effective.
Why new IIMs are opened at places like Ranchi and Kashipur?

NIT Trichy is not a business school. Their MBA program can never be compared to that of IIMs. So enrolling in NIT Trichy and reapplying for the CAT makes no sense. If you simply want to reappear, you should not enroll in NIT T and waste a year.
And if you are a GEM and are confident of getting a 99+ percentile, only reappear because you will only get calls from Old IIMs and other top 10 B-schools if you have good academics. If you need to do an MBA this year, IIM Kashipur is a good option. If not, make a good percentile and reappear.
Which one is better, IIM Udaipur or IIM Kashipur?
