One of my friends is presently studying at NIT Kurukshetra, and he has a good idea about NIT Delhi. But he does not tell me more about NIT Jamshedpur, as he has limited knowledge about this institute.
The following table shows a brief overview of these three institutes:
Criteria |
NIT Kurukshetra |
NIT Jamshedpur |
NIT Delhi |
NIRF Ranking |
6th |
79th |
92nd |
Highest Package |
43.31 LPA |

Average Package |
10.91 LPA |
12 LPA |
9.8 LPA |
Students Placed |
538 |

The above table shows that NIT Kurukshetra(KKR) > NIT Jamshedpur> NIT Delhi.
Besides, NIT Delhi is a newly opened institute with a temporary college campus. Someone mentioned that the students have to travel approximately 2 hours from their hostel room to the college rooms in NIT Delhi, which is quite tiresome. The Alumni Network is completely lagging as it is a new institute.
Additionally, NIT Jamshedpur provides good placement in comparison to NIT Kurukshetra. It is the only thing that supports the rankings of an institute, respecting other colleges. Another important thing is that if you are from Eastern Part, then opt for NIT Jamshedpur.
Comparably NIT Kurukshetra is better than NIT Jamshedpur. It offers better placement opportunities. NITK has a wonderful faculty base. The faculty members are well-experienced and cooperative. You can get their help regarding any problems you may face.
According to NIT Kurukshetra placement highlights of recent years, students receive an average CTC of around INR 11.37 LPA. While the highest CTC offered was INR 43 LPA.
If you think statistically, then PEC Chandigarh is better than NIT Kurukshetra. Considering this, the following reasons are listed:
Placement at PEC= 1.58* NIT Kurukshetra

Besides, the internship records of this institute can be compared with old IITs. Students of PEC get approximately 169 internship opportunities, of which 24 were pre-placement offers. Many students also get the opportunity to join as a research intern in a renowned foreign university, a tenure of 6 months.
So, if you to take admission in an institute considering your future with an average package of 10 LPA, then it must be noted that the student strength and competition in PEC are less than NIT Kurukshetra.
NIT Kurukshetra or PEC Chandigarh are the best options for you. You can certainly cross NIT Jalandhar off your list.
The practical labs at NITJ are not well-equipped, and the majority of the equipment is broken. The faculty, on the other hand, is excellent. You should not make NITJ your top priority.
Both the institutes are tough competitors of each other. They have a brand name in north India. It is difficult to conclude the best one among the two. Both the colleges have decent class strength, highly equipped labs, and placements for the CSE branch. PEC has a slightly higher reputation than NITK.
But you can decide on your own after looking at the below-mentioned points of both the institutes.
The fee structure and the placement statistics of both the colleges are below.

Looking at the above factors, both the colleges are head-to-head. If you work hard in any of these colleges, you will end up living the life of your dreams.
Let us answer this question considering the different parameters:
The location is a crucial issue to consider in this situation. Chandigarh has a lot more to offer than KKR in this city. Chandigarh is a livelier city whereas Kurukshetra is a small city and NIT is located on the outskirts of town, thus your life is primarily confined to the college campus.
There are many more possibilities for higher education preparation in Chandigarh. There you will witness a large number of students traveling to Chandigarh on weekends to prepare for higher education.
If I were in your situation, the only reason I would choose PEC is because of its proximity. However, consider all of the advantages and disadvantages and decide what is best for you in the long run.
The choice of a branch clearly depends on you. But, if you are wondering which among both these would be a better choice, then you can undoubtedly go for IT at NIT Kurukshetra.
There are several reasons why-
However, both of these aforementioned branches are completely different and have no personal interlinking. Thus to say, the scope for IT in various government sectors is at present near about zero, while at the same time, there is seen to be a lot of scope in the government sector for the electrical branch.
Otherwise, the salary package that a branch like IT receives is more than Electrical, since the demand for it is currently at a peak.
One of my friends was in a similar dilemma a few years back. There are several outlooks to consider when deciding which among both of these should be your choice. The points listed below will give you a fair idea to think about it,
NIT Kurukshetra does have a slight edge over PEC.
I have friends from NIT Kurukshetra, so can give you an idea about the institute. The Mechanical Engineering Department at the institute has good faculties. But, they hardly come up to the class and without their guidance, clearing the exams is tough. If you are choosing NIT Kurukshetra I will advise you to concentrate on your studies as clearing examinations without supplementary examination is challenging at the institute.
Also, Placements are good enough at NITK and you can easily secure a 5-6 LPA package as of now. According to the 2020 placement report the average CTC offered was 10 LPA.
My younger brother is doing CSE from NIT Kurukshetra. So I might be able to help you with this question.
Heres providing some basic differences between the two institutions -
