Which is better for B.Arch- NIT Trichy, NIT Calicut or Jamia Milia Islamia?

KP
Khushi Panday Posted On : August 20th, 2021
Studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering at National Institute of Technology, Calicut (2019)

All three colleges fall on the list of top Architecture institutes in India. NIT Calicut and NIT Trichy are known for Architecture as their best programs. Having to know some people studying in these institutes, I can say that though NITs are the best for architecture, Jamia is also at par with them.

  • It is obvious that NIT is a much more popular brand than Jamia. But it is still really good when it comes to architecture.
  • Jamia has the locational advantage of being situated in the capital city.
  • Jamia has better industrial exposure compared to NIT Trichy or Calicut.
  • The course curriculum of NITs is more inclined towards the technical side, which is an upside.
  • Placements at NITs are definitely better, but Jamia is also not lagging behind.
  • The infrastructure is better in the NITs than Jamia, be it labs, seminar halls, library, etc.
  • The fees at NITs are a bit higher than Jamia.
  • Though students will get better opportunities after graduating from NIT Trichy or Calicut.
Categories Architecture at NIT Trichy Architecture at NIT Calicut Architecture at Jamia Millia Islamia
Course Fee 7.00 lakh 6.78 lakh 55,750
Highest CTC 20 LPA 16 LPA 12-13 LPA
Average CTC 10 LPA 8 LPA 6-7 LPA

Therefore, it is suggested that you opt for NIT Trichy or Calicut for pursuing architecture. If not then you can go for Jamia instead, as it is also a good college.

Which is best, CSE/ECE at JMI Delhi or IET Lucknow?

SP
Sampriti Poddar Posted On : August 6th, 2021
Studied at Delhi University (2019)

I would suggest you to go for JMI Delhi. The reason for this is that JMI is very similar to the NITs. The environment and crowd are top-notch. Seniors at Jamia are also very helpful and cooperative.

The professors and other members of the faculty are well-experienced. They even help you plan your career after college. JMI alumni help you out in getting jobs and a decent salary amount.

The table below depicts the placement scenario of JMI and IET:

3.44 lakh

Average CTC

Though it is your decision to make, I still would prefer the fact that you choose JMI Delhi over IET Lucknow, for CSE or ECE. Studying in a well-reputed institution with years of educational experience is much better. This will help in networking as well.

Which is better, ECE in JMI or IT in NIT Srinagar?

UJ
Umesh Jha Posted On : January 14th, 2021
B.Tech ECE from Netaji Subhas University of Technology (2023)

Both courses are entirely different, so it all depends on you and in which field you are more interested in. Both the institutes are well-reputed and offer similar facilities. If you are not particularly interested in a specific branch, you should choose IT.

  • As a branch, IT has less workload as compared to ECE. The course curriculum and syllabus are also easier for IT.
  • IT offers more placement opportunities as compared to ECE. NIT Srinagar has a good placement record for IT and CSE and other branches as well.
  • According to the student reviews, the faculties for IT at NIT Srinagar are great.
  • In the final year, the institute offers coaching for GATE from at least 3-4 months before the examination.
  • You will need to complete at least 3-4 projects during your degree.

The table below shows information regarding ECE in JMI and IT in NIT Srinagar.

What is a better college: Jamia Millia or BIT Sindri?

DS
Deepika Singh Posted On : February 19th, 2021
IIT BHU (2019)

I have friends in both the colleges, Jamia Millia and BIT Sindri. Here is a brief comparison of the two institutions.

  • JMI Btech has a 100% placement record.
  • JMI also offers better faculty, infrastructure, academic environment, and extracurricular activities.
  • BIT Sindri used to be quite reputed previously. But the infrastructure of the institute is not up to the mark. Many of my friends left the institute just because of the poor hostel facilities. And those who are still at the institute complain about the poor salary package offered in the placements. The environment of the institute is also not that great, other than the college.

Despite these facts, you will find good reviews about BIT Sindri on different social media. These reviews are out of love for the institute not based on facts. There is no way you will find the same facilities as JMI, at BIT Sindri.

Which is the better choice for a BA LLB, Jamia, BHU, or AMU?

SS
Sudeshna Sen Posted On : March 1st, 2021
IIT BHU (2018)

There are a few law colleges that have been tagged as the “traditional law universities” due to their long history & renowned law faculties. The colleges which fall under this category are- AMU, Jamia, BHU, and GLC Mumbai & DU. although, the reputation of NLUs and their performance can never be surpassed by the above-mentioned law colleges. These universities are well-known & have great faculty that comprises jurists, lawyers, & academicians but their growth rate is slow. They have been able to walk parallel with the changing scenarios in the field of law, including a major deviation from the corporate law field.

You need to make the decision about college by keeping in mind what you want to do in the future. In that, the discussion below can be helpful.

Aligarh Muslim University:

  • Recently, AMU is in the limelight due to the high selection rate of its students in the judicial services examination. Also, AMU produces academically high qualified students.
  • The number of people from AMU who have traveled abroad for an LLM degree is less, but nevertheless, it’s an achievement that can't be ignored.
  • There is no placement cell at AMU faculty, which limits the internship opportunities. Since AMU is close to Delhi it makes it convenient for the students to seek internships outside the campus.
  • AMU focuses more on acquiring core law knowledge. This might not be of much help when it comes to practical law (Litigation). However, the competitive environment on the campus helps in clearing competitive exams like judiciary exams, DJs, UPPCSJ. At the end of the day, one needs to decide what they want to do, likewise, choose the kind of knowledge they need.
  • The atmosphere of AMU is not conducive for growth unless the student takes the imitative on its own. The student has to look for internships by themselves without being dependent on the college.

Jamia Milia University:

  • There are certain similarities between Jamia and AMU, except for the location. Jamia is located right in the heart of Delhi, thus making it easier for internship opportunities for students. Delhi is a place in terms of developing a legal perspective, therefore widening the exposure of students.
  • The culture of Jamia, along with the enthusiasm for internships is quite lively.
  • Jamia, like AMU, doesn’t have a placement cell on campus. Thus, restricting the job opportunities from the corporate sector of law.

BHU:

  • BHU has a placement cell for its students.
  • BHU has kept up with the upcoming trends. A proof of this is the introduction of a 1 year LLM course. This hasn’t been adopted by the other two colleges yet.

So, keep these things in mind and decide for yourself.
