Which is better for finance, Lal Bahadur Shastri or Fore School of Management? Is it worth it to take admission in LBSIM?

SC
Shivangi Chaudhary Posted On : July 22nd, 2021
Studying B.Com from Zakir Hussain College, Delhi University (2019).

If you look at FORE’s prior placement statistics, you'll notice that even before they started this new PGDM in Financial Management, they were a good pick for the financial sector, finance businesses, and overall BFSI.

  • Until a few years ago, LBSIM was an excellent venue for PGDM Finance. However, some of the best faculty members have left LBSIM.
  • When compared to other institutes in its category, LBSIM offers cutting-edge infrastructure and possibly the best finance faculty.
  • It offers a tough curriculum, and recruiters come in with core finance profiles; on top of that, LBSIM has a higher return on investment.
  • FORE is a good school as well, but why pay more for similar opportunities.
Particulars LBSIM FORE
Fees 11.67 lakh 15.98 lakh
Top recruiters Asian Paints, Nestle, Hindustan, Bacardi, TATA Motors, Hero, Whirlpool, HDFC, etc Microsoft, Capgemini, Razorpay, HCL Technologies, LT Foods, Blackstone and Hindware, etc
Placement rate 97% 100%
Average salary package 10.6 LPA 9.2 LPA
Highest salary package 30 LPA 32 LPA

Just remember that it’s all about your career opportunities so think wisely and then make any decision.

What is the XAT Cutoff for SP JAIN, K J Somaiya, IMT Ghaziabad, TAPMI, and FORE?

AB
Adiya Bondhopaday Posted On : March 20th, 2023
Lives in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh

XAT or Xavier Aptitude Test is a national-level entrance exam conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur for admission to management programs offered by more than 150 B-schools across India, including SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research, Institute of Management Technology Ghaziabad (IMT Ghaziabad), T A Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), and FORE School of Management.

Each of these B-schools has its own XAT cutoff score based on factors such as the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, and the availability of seats. Generally, the XAT cutoff scores for these B-schools range between the 80 to 90 percentile.

It's important to note that while cutoff scores are an important factor in the admission process, they are not the only factor. Other factors, such as your academic background, work experience, extracurricular activities, and performance in other selection rounds, also play a crucial role in the admission process. So, it's always a good idea to aim for a high score in XAT and prepare well for other selection rounds to increase your chances of admission to the MBA program of your choice.

What waiting list gets through in FORE School of Management?

MR
Mridul Roy Posted On : April 16th, 2022
MBA Marketing & Information Technology, FORE School of Management (2017)

The waiting list movement of FORE varies each year. There are many factors that influence the waiting list movement, i.e. general cutoff trends in other colleges, new IIM waiting list movement, etc.

Usually, for tier-II colleges like FORE, around 50% of the waiting list gets clear. But, there are no ways to be certain about the waiting list movement. For some academic years, the waiting list didn’t move at all, in the past.

What are my chances in FMS, MDI, and TAPMI if I have 92% in 10th, 80% in 12th, and 95% in graduation?

SM
Sanya Mishra Posted On : August 5th, 2021
Studied at Delhi University (2019)

FMS, MDI, and TAPMI are very good and reputed colleges and a student needs to be very good in academics to get admission to any of these colleges.

  • FMS and MDI are ranked higher than TAPMI and with these scores, you will be easily able to get in the second round of selection for any of these colleges.
  • For FMS, you will have to score 99 percentile in CAT as the overall percentage score of CAT for selection is 60% for FMS.
  • For MDI, you will have to score 98 percentile in CAT for the flagship program, and the international business program scoring 95 percentile will be enough.
  • For TAPMI, scoring 90 percentile will be good enough and with this score, you can expect to get a call from the college.
  • After getting the call you will have to prepare yourself for the interview round which will be the major factor in whether you will get admission or not.
  • You must practice a lot for this round and be clear with all the concepts and basics.
  • Also, try to read newspapers and current affairs as these will help you a lot in your interview.

Hence, with these scores, your chances of getting admission in FMS, MDI, or TAPMI are very good and so you must prepare for your interview round very well so that you can finally get admission to your desired college.

PGDM Marketing & Information Technology, FORE School of Management (2017)

Having friends in both FORE and LBSIM, I can say that they are the top MBA institutes in Delhi that have big-brand value.

FORE School of Management

  • There are a variety of internship roles that get offered to the students. It includes Consulting, Market Research, Sales, Business Development, Pre-Sales, and others.
  • The big corporations that visit the campus for SIP (summer internship project) are E&Y, Deloitte, United Biscuits, United Breweries, Maruti Suzuki, Genpact, Expedia, IDBI, and more. These companies pay a lucrative stipend to the students.
  • FORE provides a bunch of opportunities to the students sitting for SIP.

Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management

  • The SIPs are in BFSI, Research & Consultancy, Engineering & Durables, E-Commerce, FMCG, IT/ITES, and Others. Out of these, Research & Consultancy placed the maximum students (29% of the batch).
  • The average stipend offered is 19,500/month while the highest is 96,000/month.
  • There are over 150 companies that come for SIP placements. The new recruiters were Mahindra Finance, L&T Finance, Bajaj Capital, ONGC, Google, HPCL, ABC Consultants, Chegg, Mazars, and others.

In both institutes, the SIP Placement scenario is similar. For selecting the students, companies follow the steps: Resume-Shortlisting, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview.

Apart from the above, a few companies may also ask to write an online test. The students can also get PPO/PPI from some of the listed companies.
