Which is better NSUT or BITS Goa?

SB
Shivam Batra Posted On : August 3rd, 2021
Executive Engineer/Northern Railways (IES) at Indian Railway Service of Engineers (2014-present)

NSUT is the winner among the two engineering institutes. The reasons for the win are below.

  • NSUT has a superior ranking by the Ministry of Education. It is ranked 76th in NIRF Ranking for Engineering 2020. BITS has no place in the rank.
  • NSUT has the location advantage as it is in the capital city. Delhi is more accessible to the students, guest faculties, and recruitment companies.
  • Another main reason is the return on investment (ROI). ROI of NSUT is the best as compared to BITS. The fee of BITS is extremely high that it can take a toll on the pockets of students. Students do not have to worry about borrowing or paying back their education loans.

The details about fees and the placements of both institutes are below.

Criteria NSUT BITS Goa
Fee INR 8.44 Lakhs INR 14.7 Lakhs
Average Package INR 4 LPA INR 5 LPA
Highest Package INR 1.25 Crores PA INR 1.4 Crores PA

Overall, NSUT is the best as per the above points. The institute provides better growth opportunities for students.

NSIT/DTU is far better than NIT Hamirpur for CSE.

Be it academics, placement, research culture, peer group, exposure, etc. NSIT/DTU will offer better opportunities. These two institutes also have a locational advantage. Due to the favorable location, you can easily get good exposure in the CSE domain. NSIT and DTU both will offer you plenty of opportunities. Which is better NSUT IT or PEC CSE for a Chandigarh student?

SM
Senjuti Mitra Posted On : September 17th, 2022
Studied at Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (Graduated 2022)

In terms of brand recognition and exposure, NSUT IT is better than PEC Chandigarh. Delhi offers way better exposure, due to the presence of the industry belt in the area. There are many reputed technological institutes in Delhi such as IIITD, so the learning opportunities are ample.

CSE and IT aren’t too different. The major difference between the two branches is hardware and 90% of students are more invested in software roles. If you aren’t particularly interested in the hardware section of Computer Science, choosing NSUT will be better. NSUT placements are great for IT. Students of the branch get salary packages in the range of INR 4 - 20 LPA.

What should I choose between DTU/NSUT EE and IIIT Pune CS?

UK
Utkarsh Kumar Posted On : July 5th, 2021
B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Pune (2018)

Pursuing CSE from IIIT Pune will be a better option between DTU/NSUT EE and IIIT Pune CS.

Most of the students who complete B.Tech from non-technical streams get jobs in the IT sector. So it is better that you choose the stream in which you want to make a career. If you want to make your career in the Tech field then CSE from IIIT Pune will be a good option provided you have not planned to pursue EE yet. You can also pursue B.Tech in EE as there are lots of opportunities in it.

DTU, NSUT, and IIIT Pune are good institutes and have good placement records. You will surely get to learn a lot in either of the institutes and have fun 4 years at university. But if you want to land into a good company with a good package then you have to work hard and gain skills. Here is a brief overview of the recent placement statistics for the institutes.

Institute DTU NSUT IIIT Pune
Average CTC 7.2 LPA 7.75 LPA 7.58 LPA
Highest CTC 13 LPA 1.25 Cr 22 LPA
Major recruiters Uber, Facebook, Amazon Microsoft, IBM, HCL L&T Infotech, TCS, Bosch

If you want to do CSE then go to IIIT Pune as it will provide you with many learning opportunities and good placement.

Yes, two-year droppers can apply for NSIT/DTU. NSIT and DTU take admission through JEE Mains. JEE doesn’t have any age restrictions or rules regarding drop years.

Students can attempt JEE six times, over the period of 3 years after their 12th.  So, you will find students in NSIT and DTU, who took 2 drop years for their JEE preparation.

Does NSIT Dwarka and PTU allow lateral entry in civil engineering?

AB
Ankush Bhargava Posted On : September 6th, 2021
Civil Engineering from I. K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (2019)

I am not much aware of the procedure of NSIT Dwarka. But lateral entry in Civil Engineering is allowed at PTU. However, you will need to have a Polytechnic Diploma in Civil Engineering.

You cannot take lateral admission at NSIT because there is no civil engineering branch at NSIT. In addition to that, no government college that follows the JAC admission process allows lateral admission.

I am confused between NSIT Delhi (ECE) and MNNIT Allahabad (ECE) .What should I choose?

TA
Tejas Agarwal Posted On : March 28th, 2023
B.Tech in Computers, Delhi Technological University

If you are trying to compare two colleges, such as NSIT and DTU, it is recommended to choose the one that is closer to your place. This will make it easier for you to commute, save time, and avoid any unnecessary expenses related to travel and accommodation.

However, when it comes to comparing NSUT (NSIT) and MNNIT Allahabad, NSUT (NSIT) does have an advantage. NSUT (NSIT) is considered one of the top engineering colleges in India, known for its excellent infrastructure, faculty, and research facilities. It offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering, science, and technology.

On the other hand, MNNIT Allahabad is also a reputed engineering college but is located in a smaller city as compared to NSUT (NSIT). The city may not offer the same exposure and opportunities that Delhi can provide, especially in terms of internships, industrial visits, and campus placements.

Therefore, if you have the option to choose between NSUT (NSIT) and MNNIT Allahabad, it may be advisable to opt for NSUT (NSIT) if you are looking for a top-tier engineering college in a metropolitan city. However, this decision ultimately depends on your individual preferences and priorities, and you should weigh all the factors before making a final decision.

I've got CSE in NSIT, DTU, IIIT-D and NIT Surathkal, which one should I go for?

NG
Navneet Guha Posted On : April 8th, 2022
B.Tech Information Technology, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (2020)

You should choose CSE in NIT Surtahkal. In terms of coding culture, research environment, academics, placements, and reputation, it is better.

  • NIT Surtahkal is an Institute of National Importance and gets funding from Central Govt.
  • NIT Surathkal has a great research interface. It is the only NIT to receive HEFA funding to set up a Central Research Facility. ISRO has a regional academic center for space on NIT K campus.
  • A total of 23 students from the institute were accepted for GSoC 2020. NITK was ranked 4th globally, in the list of schools with the maximum number of accepted students in GSoC.
  • According to the placement highlights, NITK CSE average package is INR 15-16 LPA.

NIT Surtahkal offers a better return on investment, compared to NSIT, DTU, and IIIT D. Since it changes only INR 5.48 lakhs for the degree.

Which will be better, CSE at IIT Mandi, DTU, NSIT, BITS GOA or any NIT (Warangal)?

PB
Pritha Banerjee Posted On : April 8th, 2022
studied at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (2019)

For CSE, BITS Goa is the best option among the colleges mentioned here. The student crowd for the branch is almost as good as BITS Pilani. The cutoff difference between the campuses isn’t much.

BITS Goa CSE placements are pretty good. According to the placement highlights, the average package for the branch is INR 12 LPA.

The coding culture at BITS Goa is better than all the institutes mentioned here.

Which is better, CSD at IIITD, ICE at NSIT, EE at DTU or IT at MAIT?

AB
Ashmit Banerjee Posted On : April 13th, 2022
studied at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (2020)

If you are interested in Computer Science and want to pursue MS/Ph.D. from universities abroad, after graduation, IIITD CSD is the best option for you. IIITD CSD placements are also pretty good. During the 2021 placement drive, the average CTC offered was INR 16.56 LPA.

If you find Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation and Control Engineering interesting and want to go for GATE/PSU/MTech, then choose the respective streams at DTU/NSIT. These branches aren’t usually open for most IT and coding-based jobs. For an MBA or a non-tech, career path, DTU or NSIT will be better as well.
