Is any back log allowed for NITIE Mumbai for PG?

SB
Samiksha Bhatia Posted On : August 16th, 2021
Completed PGDIM from National Institute of Industrial Engineering in 2020

If we are speaking in terms of the process of admission, then you must have a degree certificate that is valid and has an aggregate score of 60% or above. Other than that, having backlogs during graduation will not be a problem. For admission to NITIE, it is mandatory for you to appear in your GATE/CAT examinations.

The aggregate percentage of marks of 60% is relaxed by 5% for candidates in the SC/ST/PwD category.

If you have the minimum score to meet the eligibility criteria and have a clear reason for your backlogs then you will be granted admission. Apart from genuine reasons you will also have to be making a steady progression so the decision to grant admission is not regretted later.

What is the average GATE score/rank required to get into NITIE PGDIE, considering an average performance in GDPI?

YR
Yash Roy Posted On : August 12th, 2021
PGDIE from National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2017)

Estimating average performance in a Group discussion or Interview round of a selection process can be a pretty difficult task until and unless the interviewer has told you, you are selected. It does happen to many people.

Based on the reviews of my friends at the institute, I will say that a score of 750 in the GATE examinations for the stream of Mechanical Engineering, with around 80% in past academics ( 10th, 12th, and graduation percentages) and a good Group discussion and Personal Interview would be enough to secure enrollment in the PGDIE courses at NIDIE.

You can refer to the Cutoff details of the PGDIE courses at NITIE (2021) mentioned below.

Categories Cut off
General 609
OBC 473
SC 345
ST 317
Physically Disabled 473

My brother scored 709 in last year’s Gate Examination and was eligible for admission into the PGDIE courses at NITIE.

How should one tackle GD and PI to get into NITIE bombay?

AC
Anuja Chauhan Posted On : August 12th, 2021
PGDIM Supply Chain Management, National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2019)

Some of my friends studied at NITIE Mumbai. They now know all the intricate details on how to face a GD and a PI round. Let me share some things they used to keep in mind.

Tips for GD:

  • Try to start the discussion. Give it a structure and then conclude it.
  • Remember that if you give it a structure, it should flow in the same direction. Though it can be a bit tricky.
  • If you are not able to start the discussion, make sure that you give at least three distinct and strong points.
  • When you state your point, try backing it up with facts and numbers. This will make you stand out among others.
  • Stay updated with current affairs and trends.

Tips for PI:

  • Read your CV thoroughly.
  • Questions that you can expect from your CV are related to your work experience and your projects if any.
  • If you are a fresher, you can expect questions on your final year project, your favorite subject, etc.
  • Since my friend was a mechanical engineer, he was asked questions on thermodynamics and a few on the composition of air.
  • You can expect basic questions such as Why NITIE Mumbai or Why Supply Chain? Go through the basics of supply chain and operations management.

So, these are some of the things you need to be prepared for. Overall be honest, humble, and answer with confidence.

Can I get into the PGDIE course of NITIE if I have a 52.2% in my 12th and 8.2 CGPA in my BE mechanical?

AB
Aritra Banerjee Posted On : March 31st, 2022
PGDIE from National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2017)

As your 12th percentage is below 60%, you will face difficulty in getting a shortlist. NITIE selection criteria assign certain weightage to 10th and 12th scores. So, even if you get shortlisted for the GD/PI round, your 12th percentage will bring down your overall score. A person with similar GD-PI performance and a higher 12th percentage is more likely to get preference for admission.

During the Summer internship shortlist, most recruiters usually give weightage to the 12th score. There are recruiters who don’t assign weightage to 10th and 12th scores but these are fewer in number.

Is it too late to join the NITIE PGDIE program at 27?

VS
Vishal Singh Posted On : August 11th, 2021
Studied at University of Mumbai (2019)

There is no fixed age limit to pursue the program. My sister did her PGDIE at 26 and she is now working at Amazon with a great CTC. As long as you are passionate about your career it doesn’t matter what your age is. However, before taking any decision, there are some important questions which you should consider:

  • Know your future goals (professionally and personally) and how this program would help you to achieve them.
  • Know your aspirations and be well aware of the opportunities you would get after completing the program.
  • Does the program you chose to be recognized in the market where you want to make your career, as NITIE offers many specialized courses?
  • Make sure that the ROI is good.
  • Be well prepared if you lose your job and make sure you know how to tackle that situation.

Check some important statistics of PGDM at NITIE:

Particulars NITIE PGDIE
Fees 11.33 lakhs
Placement Rate 100%
Highest Package offered 44 LPA
Average Package offered 20.85 LPA

Consider all the above points before selecting a particular course or college. NITIE is quite famous among recruiters. Their frequent participating companies include Amazon, Flipkart, GlaxoSmithKline, Abbott Healthcare, Amway, Google, Vodafone, Nestle, and many more.

Is the GD PI difficult at NITIE?

AB
Abhishek Bamrolia Posted On : August 20th, 2021
Former Assistant Manager at Vedanta Resources Plc (2017-2018)

No, it is not difficult but that depends on who you are asking.

You will get a call-up letter for the interview in your email ID. A care package will be sent to you consisting of expected topics and a number of other things. The topics for the GD round include current topics.

Going through newspapers on a daily basis will also help. GD round goes on for around ten minutes and you will be given time to think and prepare your answers.

My GATE score is 639. What is the chance for NITIE?

FR
Falguni Rahaman Posted On : August 13th, 2021
Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering, National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2020)

NITIE accepts GATE scores for PGDIE, PGDMM, and PGDPM courses. The GATE cutoff for NITIE varies each year depending on various factors such as category, students pools, etc. So, it’s difficult to predict the required GATE cutoff.

NITIE relesed the GATE cutoff 2021 for PGDMM and PGDPM courses. It is as follows.

Category  GATE Cutoff
General  609
OBC  473
SC 345
ST  317
Physically Disabled  473

Going by this year’s cutoff trends it’s possible that you will get a call from NITIE. But in order to be selected for admission, you will need to do well in group discussion and personal interviews too.

Which college is better for an operation management branch, JBIMS, S.P. Jain, or NITIE?

AJ
Advait Joshi Posted On : March 15th, 2023
Lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
All three institutes, JBIMS, S.P. Jain, and NITIE are well-known for their operations management programs. JBIMS is known for its rigorous academic curriculum and its location advantage in Mumbai, which is a hub for supply chain and logistics companies. SPJIMR is known for its innovative approach to teaching and its close ties with the industry, which allows students to gain hands-on experience through live projects and internships. NITIE is a specialized institute that focuses solely on operations management and has a strong alumni network in the industry.

Choosing the best institute for an operations management program depends on various factors such as the curriculum, faculty, location, placements, and overall reputation. It is recommended to research thoroughly about each institute, connect with alumni, and attend admission sessions to make an informed decision. However, NITIE is highly recommended for pursuing an operations specialization.
