I wanna do research in chemistry. Which is more suitable ICT Mumbai or NIT Trichy?

Which one is better: EEE in NIT Trichy or CS in NIT Rourkela?
EEE in NIT Trichy is better than CS in NIT Rourkela. NIT Trichy is among the best NITs in the country and offers excellent academics and placements. Around 100% of students get placed from EEE every year. According to the recent highlights of NIT Trichy placements, students of EEE usually receive salaries in the range of INR 4-20 LPA. What are my chances of being offered admission in NIT Trichy or BITS Goa (CSE) in the international quota with a subject sat score of 2390?
BITS Pilani accepts international students who have attempted SAT. To be eligible you will need to appear for the Grade 12 (qualifying) examination, SAT, and SAT subject tests (in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics level 2). 2390 in SAT is a good score and you are likely to get selected for admission.
NIT Trichy will be difficult to get especially for CSE. The required cutoff is quite high for NIT Trichy. However, you can still apply for the program and if you are lucky you may get chosen. Generally, it is difficult because NIT Trichy is considered as one of the best NIT’s and it ranks over many IIT’s. You can also go through Google’s “DASA program in India” for admissions in other branches in different NIT’s.
What should I choose, CSE at NITT or CSE at IIIT Allahabad?
IIIT Allahabad does not offer CSE as far as all the NITs in India are concerned, NIT Trichy is the best. The CSE department is quite well recognized too in the institute.
- If you appeared for the JEE Mains, you would need a rank between 280 to 876 at least to secure a seat here.
- NIT Trichy has a very big campus and you will have some of the best 4 years of your life here.
- If you are looking to join some extracurricular activities along with academics, NIT Trichy hosts some of the best Cultural and Technical Festivals in the country known as Festember and Pragyan. You can also participate in various competitions including inter NIT ones.
- There are some interdepartmental and inter-hostel competitions you can participate in as well.

When it comes to IIITs, these mainly focus on academic life and not many extracurricular activities. So, if you are getting admission at both these colleges, you should go with NIT Trichy.
How good is NIT Trichy or Calicut for my ESE preparation during an MTech?
According to one of my friends' experiences, preparing for M.Tech along with your studies is very difficult. Often you do not get stipulated time to prepare for ESE due to the mini-projects and assignments that you get very frequently.
Also, you need to especially take care of your CGPA, but if you are not worried about the CGPA you can go ahead with preparing at the full pace like few other students who do the same.
Thus, we can conclude that preparing for ESE simultaneously is really a very big task. If you have the caliber of doing the same, you can follow your will and start accordingly.
Should I take ECE at NIT Trichy or IIT Gandhinagar?
A few of my friends pursued ECE at NIT Trichy and IIT Gandhinagar and here are some tips for you from their experience.
- NIT Trichy is the best NIT in the country and among the Top 10 Engineering Colleges for the past 50 years.
- The Infrastructure, Campus, Job Placements, and Alumni Network are very well established in NIT Trichy.
- It will take at least 10 years for IIT Gandhinagar to come anywhere close to NIT Trichy.

NIT Trichy is a better choice. Don’t go for IIT Gandhinagar just because of the IIT tag, consider the above mentioned factors too.
With 86 percentile CAT, should I join PUMBA Pune, FMS BHU or NIT Trichy if I convert them? Is it wise to take admission in these colleges due to low fees?
FMS BHU is the best among all of these. There is no comparison with any other colleges.
However, if we look at NIT Trichy vs PUMBA, NIT Trichy seems to be a little better than PUMBA in terms of placements and their fee structure is almost the same.

Which is better CE at NIT Trichy or Mech. at MNNIT, Allahabad?
Some of my friends studied at MNNIT, so I might be able to answer your question. It is suggested that you choose Mechanical at MNNIT Allahabad rather than Civil at NIT Trichy.
Your branch of choice is more important than your college preference. In terms of opportunities, Mechanical Engineering has a slight advantage over Civil Engineering
Mechanical at MNNIT Allahabad has a consistent placement record. Mechanical students receive more job offers than Civil Engineering graduates. PSUs often choose Mechanical Engineering graduates.

Which is better: Civil NIT Trichy or CSE NIT Patna?
NIT Trichy is one of the top 10 institutions in India for Engineering, NIT Patna makes it to the 56th position in the NIRF Rankings 2023 for Engineering.
Despite this, I would suggest you go for CSE from NIT Patna. Out of my experience of meeting different people, I would suggest you choose a better course over a better institution. CSE is in demand these days, while Civil might not be a good choice placement-wise.
A friend of mine pursued his B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a top NIT. He did not land a decent job. After that, he cracked GATE and went for his M.Tech in Civil Engineering from DTU. Even after his M.Tech, he landed a package of INR 5.5 LPA.
Civil Engineers from IIT Guwahati in my friend circle started preparing for UPSC because of not getting a job.
I believe that a course tag is permanent unless you switch your stream during your Masters. Therefore, I would suggest you take CSE from NIT Patna instead of Civil from NIT Trichy.
How should I prepare for the JEE Mains 2021 to get into NIT Trichy?
My brother got admission to NIT Trichy last year. Here are his tips to do well in JEE Main.
- You have 2 years to prepare for JEE Mains. Many students get good ranks even with 2 months of preparation. So, you have enough time to prepare. Start as early as possible.
- JEE is not difficult. It just needs persistence and dedication.
- Join a good coaching center, even better a dummy school.
- After you are finished with your basic books, i.e. HC Varma, A Das Gupta, etc. solve as many single choice questions as possible. You can use Arihant, GRB, Balaji publication books for this.
Start preparing early and keep practicing. This is the only way to ace JEE and secure admission at NIT Trichy.
