Is the education same in NMIMS Mumbai and NMIMS Bangalore for BBA?

AD
Anuraag Das Posted On : May 8th, 2023
Studied at MBA from NMIMS (2020)

The curriculum of both campuses is the same. Only the faculties are different but they stay in touch and discuss the course and curriculum with each other. Both campuses have the same training and workshops.

Academically there is not much of a gap, only the campus experience will differ but even that is not much different as both are in India's top cities, so exposure wise both are the same as well. The exam paper, pattern, review, and assessment process are the same too. So, nothing to worry about, and it all depends on you like how you spend the 2 years on campus.

What is the placement percentage of students in NMIMS Mumbai?

AD
Anuraag Das Posted On : June 21st, 2023
Studied at MBA from NMIMS (2020)

The percentage of students placed at NMIMS Mumbai fluctuates from year to year, based on a variety of factors such as the economy, batch size, number of participating companies, and so on. NMIMS Mumbai, on the other hand, has a solid track record of campus placements, with several big corporations visiting the campus to recruit students.

NMIMS Mumbai had an average placement rate of roughly 85-90% for undergraduate and postgraduate programs as of my knowledge cut-off in 2021. The institute has a dedicated training and placement cell that assists students in preparing for the placement process and obtaining employment offers.

It's crucial to remember that the placement percentage is subject to change, so always check the institute's official website or placement cell for the most up-to-date information.

What is the admission process for NMIMS Mumbai except NPAT

AD
Anuraag Das Posted On : June 28th, 2023
Studied at MBA from NMIMS (2020)

NMIMS Mumbai takes five major aspects into considering the admission of any given candidate. I have mentioned them below with their corresponding weightage proportions:

  1. NMAT Score - 70%
  2. Group Discussion - 10%
  3. Personal Interview - 10%
  4. Work Experience - 5%
  5. Academic Scores - 5%

NMIMS conducts a three-step selection process to select the best of the best candidates out of the pool of applicants- a written exam then GDPI

  1. NMAT: It is a national-level Management Aptitude entrance test conducted by GMAC. One can get a call for further selection in one of the 5 campuses based on their scores. NMAT is a very basic level exam that requires little prep and just proper strategy to score high. Because the cut-off is very high for Mumbai, it is actually hard to enter NMIMS Mumbai.
  2. Group Discussion: This is the 2nd round and requires a different kind of prep. It generally takes more than a few months of prep and takes a lot of time to form opinions. The topic is given 5 to 10 minutes before the CD. You can bring some level of preparedness with extensive readings and listen to news channel debates. The topics given here are quite generic and not at all very complicated.
  3. Personal Interview: This round may be one of the most anxious ones with only a few seconds to respond and various examiners, in this case, panelists who evaluate each of your words, expression, and body language.

This round may be challenging if you go in without any prep since the panelists are highly experienced.

Can I choose my CD PI slot for NMIMS Mumbai?

PD
Priyanka Das Posted On : May 10th, 2023

Yes, during the registration procedure, applicants who have used the NMAT to apply for admission to NMIMS Mumbai have the option to select their desired CD PI (Case Discussion and Personal Interview) slot.

Following your registration for the CD PI, NMIMS will send you an email with details on how to reserve your desired time slot. You must log in to the NMIMS website and choose the time and date that work best for you.

Because there are only a certain number of slots available and they are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, it is important that you reserve your slot as soon as you can, once you have selected and booked a slot it won’t change further and be there on time.

Is 219 a decent score in the NMAT to get a call from NMIMS Mumbai (Language-64, LR-84, Quants-71)? Will I get a chance to give an interview?

AJ

219 is a decent score but getting an interview call from NMIMS Mumbai would also largely depend on other factors like the competition pool, the difficulty level of the exam, and the admission policy of the institute.

If we see the past trends, NMAT cut-offs for the main campus are usually around 230-235 with the sectional cutoffs being around 98-99. NMAT 2022 was not one of the easiest so it is speculated that the cutoffs would go down a bit as compared to last year’s.

But I would still suggest not keeping your hope high and a backup option. Even if you clear the overall cutoff, your sectional score might create a problem for you. With this score, you could get calls from TAPMI, and KJ Somaiya.

There are many ways to measure the "best" MBA college, but one commonly used metric is the ranking by reputed educational agencies. According to the latest rankings by the Financial Times, the top MBA college in Mumbai is the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), followed by the S. P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) and the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS). However, these rankings are based on specific criteria and may not match your preferences.

Here is a brief overview of these colleges
