NMIMS Mumbai takes five major aspects into considering the admission of any given candidate. I have mentioned them below with their corresponding weightage proportions:

  1. NMAT Score - 70%
  2. Group Discussion - 10%
  3. Personal Interview - 10%
  4. Work Experience - 5%
  5. Academic Scores - 5%

NMIMS conducts a three-step selection process to select the best of the best candidates out of the pool of applicants- a written exam then GDPI

  1. NMAT: It is a national-level Management Aptitude entrance test conducted by GMAC. One can get a call for further selection in one of the 5 campuses based on their scores. NMAT is a very basic level exam that requires little prep and just proper strategy to score high. Because the cut-off is very high for Mumbai, it is actually hard to enter NMIMS Mumbai.
  2. Group Discussion: This is the 2nd round and requires a different kind of prep. It generally takes more than a few months of prep and takes a lot of time to form opinions. The topic is given 5 to 10 minutes before the CD. You can bring some level of preparedness with extensive readings and listen to news channel debates. The topics given here are quite generic and not at all very complicated.
  3. Personal Interview: This round may be one of the most anxious ones with only a few seconds to respond and various examiners, in this case, panelists who evaluate each of your words, expression, and body language.

This round may be challenging if you go in without any prep since the panelists are highly experienced.
