For Computer Science, NMIMS Mumbai is a better option in terms of placements, location, and exposure. The institute follows an industry-relevant and updated curriculum. The CSE labs are well-equipped with the latest technologies. There are many workshops, student bodies, and professional chapters that you can take part in.
NMIMS placements are good for CSE. Around 100% of students from the branch get placed. The average CTC for the branch is around INR 6-7 LPA.
Choose NMIMS MBA in business analytics if you work in analytics or want to. However, if you're not interested in analytics, you should choose the TAPMI PGDM core program because many people convert to analytics without knowing anything about it, which is a bad sign.
If you're interested in analytics, select NMIMS to develop professionally. If you're unsure about analytics, the TAPMI PGDM core programme will give you several options in different industries.
The NMIMS campus in Mumbai is better than the Shirpur campus. The following are the reasons for the same:
Narsee Monjee College of Economics and Commerce is Mumbai University affiliated while NMIMS is altogether a separate University. I have a few friends from the mentioned institutes and here are some tips that may help you in choosing between the two.
So what you have to decide is whether you want to study what everyone across Mumbai is studying or you want to go the other way.
Here is a brief comparison of the two institutes.
Particulars | NM | NMIMS |
Placement percent | 50% | 60% |
Highest salary | INR 50 LPA | INR LPA |
Median salary | INR LPA | INR 4.8 LPA |
Top recruiting companies | Wipro, Deloitte, JSW, KPMG | IBM, ICICI, SBI Life, Prudential, IDFC |
In terms of faculty, infrastructure, and curriculum parameters Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) is the better one.
If you are certain that you will be accepted into IIM A, B, or C, or FMS, then the only time I would suggest dropping NMIMS is for that purpose. It is not a good idea to skip over the top 15 in favor of the top 10 unless your goal is to be at the very top.
There are no other IIMs, and there are no other private colleges. I am not claiming that NMIMS is the next best thing after A, B, C, and FMS, but the gap between NMIMS and the rest of them is not significant enough to warrant skipping a year. They all offer learning and placement opportunities that are comparable, and once you've moved on from your first job, the value of the brand will no longer be relevant.
The answer is no.
The curriculum is different which is why the expertise of the faculties is also different. If you want to pursue Management as a postgraduate degree, you should first finish your undergraduate studies. Then examine your options and apply for entrance exams in NMIMS.
MBA Tech is superior to MBA General from NMIMS. You will get value additions in MBA Tech such as data-paralytics, which gives you a tech-commercial advantage and, ultimately, job preference. A techno-commercial person is paid more than a general MBA.
Furthermore, completing your MBA through SBM will provide you with a better scope and a more propelling start.
You should choose IIM Shillong. In terms of brand value, average package, placement opportunities, and ROI, it is better. During IIM Shillong placements 2022, the median CTC received by the students was INR 22.28 LPA. The highest CTC was INR 55.22 LPA.
Although IIM Shillong has a locational disadvantage, you will benefit from the brand value, in long run.
Yes, you should be able to make it to the NMIMS Mumbai campus for BBA. Usually, anything below 2000 is a safe bet to secure a seat at the NMIMS Mumbai campus.
Yes, you will be able to make it into NMIMS Mumbai Campus for BBA.
There are a lot of candidates whose ranks were in the 2100s who got into Mumbai Campus but after 3–4 merit lists.
NMIMS hostel facility includes two full-fledged hostels and three rented residential accommodations that are taken care by the university in Mumbai, separately for boys and girls. The students admitted are given preference on a first come first basis; and preference is given to students from outside of Mumbai to the hostel. The girls' hostels are provided with all the modern amenities, good nutritious food and purified drinking water facilities. Most of the rooms are triple sharing and have a separate washroom inside the room. The rooms are big and spacious with box beds. Each bed is provided with a study table, chair, and a personal almirah. The only odd thing is that despite being MBA hostel, it has a curfew.
You cannot get inside the hostel after 11PM unless you have a valid reason with enough proof.
No,NMIMS Mumbai does not accept GRE for admission to their MBA program. The NMAT is mandatory to take. Most Indian B-Schools accept GRE or GMAT scores for their one-year MBA programs and in special cases, the admission team at NMIMS may consider an applicant who has taken the GRE if they like the applicant's profile. If you have a good GRE score, you could consider applying to ISB, which accepts GRE scores for its MBA program.
