Is there any guest house facility available in MNNIT Allahabad for parents to stay for 1-2 days?
Yes, MNNIT Allahabad offers the facility for parents to stay. There is a guest house which is known as the EDC guest house where the parents may accommodate for a few days The guesthouse is a great option if you're looking for comfortable and affordable accommodations during your visit. It is located on the campus of MNNIT Allahabad behind the academic building near the girl’s hostel.
To avail the same, one has to visit the EDC building and fill up the form. If rooms are available then you’ll get the accommodation easily. Or they may access the permission to stay from O.C. - EDC through the concerned Warden.
The rooms are quite spacious and fitted with a geyser. This accommodation facility is free for the administrative and academic guests recommended by the director. Moreover, this guest house of MNNIT Allahabad provides a dining facility for which you have to inform a few hours prior and also pay separately.

Your branch of choice is more important than your college preference. In terms of opportunities, Mechanical Engineering has a slight advantage over Civil Engineering
Mechanical at MNNIT Allahabad has a consistent placement record. Mechanical students receive more job offers than Civil Engineering graduates. PSUs often choose Mechanical Engineering graduates.

Which one will be better, MNNIT Allahabad or IIIT Allahabad for an M.Tech in CSE?
Both IIIT Allahabad and MNNIT Allahabad are excellent institutes, providing sufficient placements in the circuital branches of engineering. But, IIIT Allahabad has slight advantages over the other, considering certain parameters in branches, which are discussed below in the following points.
- MNNIT Allahabad and IIIT Allahabad are two incomparable institutes, having decent placement records each. Both the institutes have an excellent self-study culture among students for their own betterment.
- IIIT is totally devoted to IT and Electronics branches only, it has a slight advantage in placement and opportunities over the other.
- IIIT Allahabad is a much newer institute, being established in the year 2000. Even, many faculties of IIIT Allahabad are pass-out students of MNNIT Allahabad.
- Both IIIT and MNNIT have an excellent placement record for M.Tech branches.
- The coding culture of IIIT Allahabad is famous all over India, which is the second-best in the country after IIIT Hyderabad. If you are interested in coding and open-source development should definitely choose IIIT Allahabad over MNNIT. Students who have an interest in other fields can choose MNNIT.

You should prefer MTech CSE at DTU. It offers better facilities. The infrastructure and hostel facilities of DTU are great. Located in the heart of Delhi, it offers better exposure to the industry. It is comparably easier to receive live projects, internships, and placement opportunities. Companies such as Microsoft, Wipro, Cisco, etc. take part in DTU placements. The average CTC for MTech CSE students is around INR 10 LPA - 12 LPA.

Which college will be better for civil engineening: NIT Allahabad or NIT Surathkal?
I know people from both NIT Allahabad and NIT Surathkal and based on the reviews I got from them, I will say the former is better. Choose Civil Engineering, only if you are genuinely interested in the branch. If you want placement after the completion of the course, you will have to work hard as there are not many core companies visiting the campus placement drive. However, the placement record for NIT Allahabad is better as compared to NIT Surathkal.
Here are some of the other reasons why you should give preference to NIT Allahabad.
- The academic environment at the campus is great. You will experience healthy competition among peers. Many students prepare for competitive examinations such as GATE, CAT, IES, UPSC, etc. Back in 2017, three students from the Civil engineering branch secured AIR 1, AIR 2, and AIR 3 in GATE.
- At NIT Allahabad, you can change your branch after the first year, if you maintain >7.5 CPI.

There are different departments for Robotics such as CSE/IT, ECE, and Mechanical. It is up to you in which branch you are willing to go to. If you like advanced robotics mechanism learning, its construction, etc, you have to decide first then only you can choose your desired branch.

How is the faculty of IT at MNNIT? Which has a better faculty, IT at MNNIT or at IIIT Allahabad?
Since my friend is an alumnus of IIIT Allahabad, she will be well suited to talk about the faculty of the institute.
All the teaching staff of IIIT Allahabad is Ph.D. holders from institutes that are reputed, for example, IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, etc. Some of them have received their Ph.D. from institutes like the University of Reading, UK. So it goes without saying that the faculty members have expertise in their respective areas of teaching.
The teaching style of the faculty is the same as that of other institutes like the IITs and/or IISc. They teach during the class. If you have doubts, you can ask the faculty and they will be very happy to resolve the same. They are very supportive.
Don’t make faculty a major deciding factor for choosing an institute. Both IIIT Allahabad and MNNIT are reputed institutes in the field of IT.
