How is the integrated BE-MBA course in Thapar University? Why is it given lower priority than the BE in admissions?

DG
Dhe Gupta Posted On : August 10th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (2020)

According to one of my friends, who is an alumnus of Thapar University, the integrated program involving BE and MBA is mostly preferred by the students nowadays over many other branches like civil, chemical, mechanical, and many others. At the same time, computer science or electronics plus MBA is a good option to take your career ahead as you may be well aware of the popularity of the computer science branch at Thapar University. Also, there is a benefit of not giving competitive exams such as CAT or GMAT.

The students who remain in the turmoil of giving entrance exams and don't want to write the national level exams or are afraid of not getting LM Thapar according to the marks scored in entrance exams, mostly prefer this course.

Since the course is newly introduced by the university, it will take time to settle and as soon as the stream settles down, automatically the cut-off will go high.

As for why this course has low priority among students, it’s just a mindset problem and has nothing to do with the course or university.

How good is DUs Satyawati College?

PT
Prajwal Tiwari Posted On : October 12th, 2022
Studied at Satyawati College, University of Delhi

Satyawati was a part of the Delhi University campus before it was relocated to Ashok Vihar.

When you are admitted to one of the DU colleges, you place a high value on education. There are many amenities in college that other colleges do not have, one of which is the Largest Auditorium at DU.

It's a good college with friendly students. The seniors are helpful. There are numerous co-curricular societies to which one can belong. Ragging is prohibited at the college because of the anti-ragging policy. Except for a few, the teachers have extensive experience and training. The building's infrastructure is adequate, and the classrooms are also spacious. There is a fantastic library as well. The canteen is excellent. The ground is in good condition and is well-maintained.

What is the difference between SOL and regular college in DU?

DR
Divya Rohira Posted On : September 28th, 2021
Studied at School of Open Learning (SOL),University of Delhi, graduated in 2020

There is no difference between the courses followed by SOL at the University of Delhi. However, once the semester system was started in the regular colleges under the University, some differences have been seen. There is nothing to worry about, though. The syllabus of SOL is good.

The courses offered in SOL are year wise whereas the coursework of the regular colleges is semester-wise. SOL is basically for those candidates who are also employed. All the processes are carried out online. It offers courses like M.A., M.Com, B.Com (Hons.), etc.

Which is better, IET Lucknow or KNIT Sultanpur?

VB
Vandana Batra Posted On : May 4th, 2023
B.Tech. Computer Science & Engineering, Kamla Nehru Institute Of Technology (2016)

When it comes to choosing between KNIT Sultanpur and IET Lucknow, it's important to remember that "better" is subjective and depends on personal preferences. Let's take a closer look at both options:

KNIT Sultanpur:

  • KNIT has both good and bad faculties, so the quality of education may vary.
  • Campus life is bustling with lots of councils and activities, making it easy to stay engaged throughout the year.
  • The campus is decent, with lots of greenery and a peaceful environment for studying.
  • In the first and second year, it's important to attend classes seriously, but in later years, you can manage with less or very less classes depending on your time management skills.
  • For students in CE, EE, and ME, there is no placement scope in KNIT, and they must crack GATE or other competitive exams to secure a job. Fortunately, there is ample time available for GATE preparation in the final year due to fewer classes, and Sultanpur provides a distraction-free environment.
  • CS, IT, and EL students have more placement opportunities, with TCS recruiting over 100 engineers each year and other companies like Qualcomm, Mediatech, Lava, and Snapdeal also participating.

IET Lucknow:

  • Both KNIT and IET have similar faculties.
  • Infrastructure at IET is slightly better than KNIT.
  • Lucknow city provides students with more exposure and networking opportunities.
  • IET is near Made Easy and ACE coaching centers, which can be useful for GATE preparation.
  • Placements are almost the same in both colleges.
  • Hostel life at KNIT is arguably better.
  • Both colleges have councils and forums, but KNIT has more.

In conclusion, both KNIT Sultanpur and IET Lucknow have their advantages and disadvantages, and it's up to you to decide which one suits your preferences better.
