Honestly, the South Indian food served in Pondicherry cannot be tolerated by North Indians for long because they are not used to the spices and the tamarind. But the bright side is, that Pondicherry has some amazing places serving North Indian and continental food.
I don't think food is a major obstacle for a North Indian MBBS student at JIPMER. Here is what the food at Pondicherry looks like.
The above pic shows scrumptious Bread and Chocolate, Auroville. The restaurants in Pondicherry are amazing so food should be your last concern here.
As a North Indian, my friend faced some major language issues, especially at the time of applying for ward leave. Her worst experience was the RHC posting during her internship. She had to interact with people in rural areas who spoke a more complex version of the language.
Overall, North Indians might miss their food and interact with their locals but not regret choosing JIPMER despite that!
Let’s discuss the changes in getting admission into IIM Calcutta through past figures (general category only).
Apart from CAT score, the chances of getting into IIMC depend on various factors such as
Academic profile (i.e. marks in 10th, 12th, and undergraduate)
Academic Diversity
Work experience
Gender Diversity
Category-based evaluation (EWS, NC-OBC, SC, ST, PWD)
IIM Calcutta has around 200-220 general category seats. Also, it rejects 4 students for 1 selection which means around 1100 students are shortlisted. To be among these 1100 students you need to have at least 99.33 percentile.
The chances increase if you are a favorable candidate apart from a high CAT score. Being a female, non-engineer, decent work experience. If you aren’t then your cutoff increases to 99.5.
Your chances drop to 0.5% and passing the interview round becomes more difficult.
So work around the factors I have mentioned beforehand to become a favorable candidate for admission into IIMC
The admission procedure for an M.Tech program at IIT Delhi typically involves the following steps:
Once you are shortlisted, go through further screening for final admission.
There is a common entrance test for SRFTI and FTII. This test usually takes place in November. If you clear the written entrance test, they will call you for the orientation program. It takes around 5 days. At the orientation, there will be various activities like group discussions and interviews. If you clear these rounds you will get selected for admission. This is the general procedure for admission.
If you haven’t appeared for KIITEE and want to get direct admission to KIIT, you will have to choose one of the 2 ways mentioned below
These are the only 2 ways I am aware of to seek direct admission to KIIT.
Being a GE candidate makes every option exponentially harder. Here are some of the exams with their cutoffs (probable) to secure admission to IISc Bangalore for your UG program-
Ultimately though, the JEE Mains cutoff depends on the number of remaining seats after the KVPY admissions have been processed and verified.
These are the probable marks & ranks in various exams that are required for your admission into IISc Bangalore.
Also, prepare well if you are called for an interview. The UG program at IISER Pune, Kolkata, and Mohali are at par with the ones offered at IISc Bangalore. IISc Bangalore, however, has years of research experience behind it.
If you get full marks in AIIMS, JIPMER, and NEET, you will become a celebrity overnight. Every coaching center will want to claim you as a student and will offer a huge amount of money for your name or rank. You will be in demand for interviews by TV channels and your written interviews will appear on 20 websites at least. Any strategy you cook or write on will gain millions of views. You can charge for your advertisement.
So, if you score full marks in AIIMS, JIPMER, and NEET, you will become very rich and famous.
To get admission at IIM Bangalore, as an ECE student, you need to have a CAT score of above 90. IIM Bangalore takes into account CAT scores, past academic records, and relevant work experience for shortlisting. Here is the weightage distribution.

Both the colleges are well known and the degrees that you want to pursue are in high demand. However, it depends on your interests and preferences. A BBA degree from Christ University focuses on the various aspects of marketing, business administration, management, operation and human resources. The B.Com degree from Delhi University focuses on finance, commerce, economics and accounting. Another factor that you must consider is the location of the college and which is more comfortable for you. Both the colleges have active campus life but Christ is the winner because of the multiple events, fests and club activities that take place every day. The placements for both the courses are satisfactory. So, give it a thought and choose the degree that you are passionate about.
To get into IIM Kozhikode, a percentage of atleast 95 is preferable. Being from Kozhikode won’t be of much help.
One major piece of advice to you if you are a fresher is to indulge yourself in extracurricular activities. Get extra certificates through internships or part-time jobs. Paid courses that offer certificates will also be helpful. All this will help you in the GD-Pi process and you're likely to convert your call.
