You should prefer BIT Mesra. It offers better facilities and placements compared to NIT Durgapur. BIT Mesra placement 2022 witnessed an average CTC of INR 10.02 LPA, and the highest domestic CTC offered was INR 51.71 LPA. It also has a beautiful well-constructed campus.
But NIT Durgapur course fees are less compared to BIT Mesra.

Which is a better option, an ME in IIEST Shibpur or an ME in BIT Mesra?
BIT Mesra and IIEST Shibpur are both extremely renowned institutes of India. It has been seen that the Birla Institute of Technology is a government-aided institute whereas IIEST Shibpur is a full government institute. - The college infrastructure and faculty of NIT Jamshedpur are not very up to the mark but then you cannot depend on the teachings.
- Most of the time you have to study on your own or along with your friends.
Branch Selection: If you are interested in opting for the IT branch then you can definitely go for BIT Mesra but if you have certain confusion in your branch selection, then it is recommended to choose ECE from NIT Jamshedpur.

- NIT Jamshedpur takes really good care of its students. Facilities like hostels and mess are really awesome. From the tasty food of mess to the clean rooms of the hostel, everything is just perfect.
- My friend visited BIT Mesra for a workshop and according to her experience, the food at the campus is not that good. Their facilities are not up to the mark.

Students of the institute get ample networking opportunities thanks to the huge alumni base. CSE at BIT Mesra has a placement rate of around 92%. The average salary package for the branch is INR 13 LPA. Microsoft, Amazon, Accenture, etc. recruit through BIT Mesra placements.
How is the biotech department of BIT Mesra?
The Biotech Department of BIT Mesra is average. If you want to join a core company after completing your degree, there are better alternatives. - As mentioned before, very few core companies visit the campus placement. One of my friends pursued Biotech from BIT Mesra and during her time Biotech students were allowed to sit for only a few consultancies as well.
