PG
Prity Gaekwad Posted On : December 29th, 2022
Masters student at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (2016–present)

Curriculum

The civil engineering department of MSU is one of the best in Gujarat. The professors are experienced and come to the classes regularly. You will also find some PhD level professors here.

The ME in Chemical Engineering is a 4 year full time course with 155 seats available this year.

Placements

The placements here are quite good compared to other colleges in Gujarat. 22 students were placed last year. The highest package offered last year was 8 LPA, the average package was 4-5 LPA, and the lowest package was 2.5-3 LPA. The top recruiting companies are

  • L&T
  • Reliance
  • Torrent
  • ABB

As far as the metallurgy department is concerned, it’s difficult to get a good percentage but the curriculum is decent.

Do all Software companies (mainly Adobe, Microsoft, and Amazon) accept ECE students during campus placements at MNNIT Allahabad?

SB
Swapnil Bose Posted On : July 1st, 2021
Computer Science NIT Allahabad (2018)

I have a few friends from MNNIT Allahabad and here is what they had to say.

  • Companies such as Adobe and Microsoft mainly prefer students from CSE/IT branches. Back in 2016, Adobe offered an internship to a Electrical student.
  • As far as Amazon is concerned it does prefer students from Electrical engineering as well.
  • Amazon on the other hand allows all the students. Other software companies which comes for recruitment allows ECE student as well.
  • Also, if you are interested, you can request to TPOs so that they can forward your request to the company’s HR. Depending upon your resume you can get the required allowance.

Hope this helps.

Why are the ISB Hyderabad placements better than IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Calcutta?

AC

IIM Ahmedabad forerunner course is PGDM which is very much different from that of ISB Hyderabad which provides one year PGP course.

For IIM Ahmedabad having experience might be beneficial but it has not been made necessary whereas on the other hand for ISB Hyderabad, you would need a good experience of minimum 3 years with a strong profile or portfolio.

Categories

ISB Hyderabad

IIM (A/B/C)

Course Fee (approx.)

31.35 lakh

10-23 lakh

Placement Percentage

80%

90-100%

Highest CTC

40-50 LPA

Average CTC

23-28 LPA

Recruiting Companies

BCG, McKinsey, Accenture, Deloitte, Wipro, etc.

Accenture, Microsoft, Capgemini, TCS, etc.

In short, we get to know that ISB Hyderabad already admits people who have a very good and strong profile and could be termed to be ready and hence is one of the main reasons why ISB Hyderabad has a better package than that of IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore or Calcutta. Talking about the faculty, both the colleges have faculty up to the mark so there is not much difference

Why are the companies for placements at baby IIMs not known brands compared to colleges like TAPMI/IMI? Is it worth joining baby IIMs when the brands recruiting from them are not known?

PP
Pratik Parikh Posted On : April 17th, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

Big Companies and good brands hiring from top B-Schools and colleges like TAPMI/IMI know the students they are hiring have already been through some rigorous checks, so their job is half done, and they don’t want to just hire and train them. While the small companies and brands can’t get into top B-schools, baby IIMs welcome them and they can easily train them.

As the baby IIMs will grow old they will start getting big brands as well, so don’t discard them easily. IIM tag is after all the same for all and it matters.

Best of Luck !

Can ECE students sit for placement in IT companies in Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology?

MD
Monica Dua Posted On : May 31st, 2021
B.tech Information Technology, Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology (2019)

Yes, ECE students can sit for placements in IT companies and many of them even get selected in top companies as there are very few core companies visiting the campus.

Most of the recruiters don't discriminate between ECE, IT, and CSE students and allow everyone to attend interviews. While some companies like Directi, Libsys didn't allow ECE students to attend interviews.

Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Josh Tech accept students from the ECE department and allow them to attend interviews.

If you are interested in coding, use the internet to learn rather than depending on the college. Join MOOCs from Udemy, Edx, Coursera, etc. These will make your CV appear more appealing to the recruiters.

On assuming the salary package, after clearing the GATE, which is better to choose an MTech in IITs or a management course in NITIE?

AP
Ashutosh Pathak Posted On : August 16th, 2021
Studies CSE at IIT Kanpur (2020)

The salary package that you receive depends on the type of organization you are part of, and your discipline of study.

For instance, the trend of artificial intelligence is continually spiking, with several similar industrial aspects. So, opting for IOT and M.Tech in fields relevant to these can undeniably bring better opportunities and higher packages in top-tier firms like Microsoft, Oracle and others.

Pursuing a management course from NITIE can also offer large pay packages if you are securing positions in top consulting services or FMCG firms.

However, comparing an M.Tech program of IIT with a management program of NITIE is not right. But, if you are talking about disciplines like Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering, or Chemical engineering, then choosing the management courses of NITIE instead, can grab you better opportunities. But then again, it depends upon how prepared and thorough you are with your academic credentials.

But don’t choose an institute solely based on its placement record. Choose the field that interests you instead.
