Does IGNOU provide a BA (Hons.) degree in political science?
Yes, IGNOU offers BA (Hons) in Political Science. In order to get the BA (Hons) degree, you will have to complete 48 credits in it, during the 3 years. IGNOU course materials are thorough and to the point. IGNOU study materials can be helpful if you are planning on preparing for competitive examinations such as UPSC. Which is better for an MA/MSc in psychology through distance learning, IGNOU or Annamalai University?
One of my friends completed his MA in Industrial Psychology through IGNOU. According to him, it is a well-thought-out course with a term-end examination, compulsory internship, and research projects. My friend also consulted with some practicing Psychologists regarding the study material. According to them, the course is at par with the regular university courses.
The advantage of this course is that you can complete the course over a period of 5 years and examinations are taken twice each year. So, you can take examinations for 2-3 subjects each term and complete the course easily along with a full-time course or job. Study Center and Regional Center are two points of contact for IGNOU.
Lately, there have been some issues regarding RCs and teachers in IGNOU. Going forward they need to address these issues.

Almost the entire course is included in the exams either in the form of short notes, long answers or differences. So you will have to learn a lot. But the level of difficulty is not that high. However, the assignments are not that easy. They require a thorough understanding of each topic and a lot of written work.
The salient feature of IGNOU is to specifically cater to the needs of people who cannot pursue full-time education. Considering this the exams are not very challenging that will become a burden for part-timers.
What do I do if I missed a year in IGNOU?
According to the 2nd rule and guidelines of IGNOU:
Students who do not register for all semesters/years of a program, and fail to pay the fees within the maximum duration of the course, are eligible for re-admission.
For this, they will have to pay fees for the missed semester/years as per the rate applicable for the session for which they seek re-admission. In addition, they are also required to pay a pro-rata course fee for re-admission as per the rate given in Table-A for each of the course(s) that they have missed.
