I am a fresher for MBA. Is the IMT Ghaziabad DCP program skewed in favor of work experience or should I go for it?
Being part of a cohort with a wide range of prior job experience is advantageous because of the invaluable lessons that may be learned from one's peers. A new student will bring enthusiasm, energy, and fresh ideas to the table; a more seasoned student will check to make sure everything has been thought of, practice effective situation management, and disseminate knowledge gained on the job. Which is better for a PGDM, IMT G or TAPMI?
IMT Ghaziabad is in a different league as of now. Though TAPMI is improving, It's still behind IMT G. In this scenario, the institute matters, not your specialization.
In my limited experience working in the sector and with recruiters, IMT has a better reputation than TAPMI. In many organizations, IMT is a better B-school than TAPMI. It's about image. As your career progresses, that is more significant than campus placements.
IMT is relaxed and requires self-motivation. You have every chance-use it. IMT has a great faculty, so you should be fine.

Which college is better, IMT Ghaziabad or XIMB (BM)?
My senior from school was a student of IMT Ghaziabad and this is what she said when I asked her the same question.
In the field of management education, XIMB (BM) and IMT Ghaziabad are somewhat competitors. Both institutes boast of an excellent environment for learning, both are renowned, both have enviable faculty and placement records. So, if you want to join either college, you can almost guarantee yourself a bright future.
However, if you want to pursue MBA or PGDM in Marketing, then IMT Ghaziabad will be superior to XIBM (BM). Conferences and seminars are conducted by the institute for providing the best education with a practical approach. IMT Ghaziabad was way ahead as per the latest placement reports. In the pre-campus placements, over 150 leading companies took part in offering lucrative packages to the candidates. Some of them even got employment opportunities overseas. 58.22 LPA was the higher package.
So, if you are planning on taking a Marketing specialization, you can’t go wrong with IMT Ghaziabad.
Does IMT Ghaziabad takes students through management quota?
IMT Ghaziabad can be considered among the top innovative B-schools in India. One of my cousins is part of the institute and as per him, there is no management quota or backdoor entry for the PGDM course.
The only possible way to enroll at IMT Ghaziabad is to achieve the required scores in CAT, CMAT, and CET.
Earlier in IMT Ghaziabad, there were candidates who neither scored well nor qualified for the entrance criteria. Despite these major drawbacks in their academic backdrop, it was not clear what caused their admission at IMT Ghaziabad. The entry belongs entirely in the hands of the top management system of the institute. It can often play a role, but only infrequently, given the situation.

Which one is a better B-school, SP Jain or IMT Ghaziabad?
I would say, SP Jain. If you want to go into Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain, you should go for it. If you want to go into core marketing, you can go to IMT Ghaziabad.
Both are good schools, but if you just look at the rankings, SPJIMR is in the top 10 in India, while IMT is in the top 40. That’s a huge difference.
SPJIMR gets more companies than IMT Ghaziabad. SPJIMR is also the first when it comes to ranking.

Which college is better for an MBA (PGDM) in marketing among IMT Ghaziabad and baby IIMs (Nagpur, Visakhapatnam, Amritsar)?
It all depends on what you are looking for, your goals, and your preferences. IMT Ghaziabad (Estd. 1980) is an old legacy institute while the baby IIMs (Estd. 2015) (although it is offensive to call them that) are relatively new. Should IIMs opened in 2015 (Jammu Sirmaur Vizag Nagpur) be preferred over IMT Ghaziabad?
No, I don't think the new IIMs should be preferred over a well-established institute like IMT Ghaziabad. I have seen many instances wherein people forgo offers from new IIMs to join IMT Ghaziabad.
The IIM brand has failed to convince students to join the new IIMs for a diploma. A cursory glance at the low placement figures last year at some of the relatively newer IIMs (Raipur, Rohtak, Ranchi, Kashipur, and Udaipur) when compared to their older counterparts, too, tells its own story.
Another important issue for management aspirants is that even if they are okay with the lack of infrastructure, full-time faculty members, and alumni, they cannot ignore the delayed start to the sessions at the new IIMs. While faculty members think that this time gap in starting operations can be bridged easily, students feel that they might lose out on their summer internships.
Which college is better for an MBA, XIMB or IMT Ghaziabad? Looking for detailed answers based on latest information.
Both XIMB and IMT Ghaziabad are very good colleges but XIMB will be a better choice than IMT Ghaziabad. I know some people from both the institute, so I think I can give you some insight about them.
- XIMB has a better placement record. It also offers a better ROI.
- Although both institutes have their own legacy, the alumni network for XIMB is somewhat better.
- XIMB is also a more reputed tier-1 management institute as compared to IMT. The Xaviers brand name definitely comes with some perks.
- In SBI student loans, XIMB comes in the first list while IMT doesn’t.
