Which college is better for an MBA (in terms of education and placements), IMT Nagpur or NIT Warangal?
The following are the reasons why you should pick IMT Nagpur over NIT Warangal:
- Placement Statistics: IMT Nagpur has an average salary of around 7.64 lakhs against 5.56 lakhs for NIT Warangal. This is a significant difference and indicates that IMT Nagpur has a better track record when it comes to placing its students in good companies with decent packages.
- NIRF Ranking: IMT Nagpur is ranked 70 in the top 100 B-schools according to the NIRF Ranking, while NIT Warangal does not have a spot yet.
- Batch Size: IMT Nagpur has a batch size of 300+ against 30 odd students at NIT Warangal. While a larger batch size may make it more challenging to secure placements for every student, it also means that there will be more opportunities for peer-to-peer learning, group activities, and networking.
- Foundation Year: IMT Nagpur has been growing exponentially even though it started 4 years after the Management Department at NIT Warangal. - Management Education: While NIT Warangal is a pioneer institute for Technical Education, it has a lot of boxes to fill to do well in the area of Management Education. NIT Warangal may not have as much experience or expertise in offering an MBA program as IMT Nagpur does.
IMT Nagpur also has good faculty, student-run ventures, and flexible courses, which can provide a holistic experience that MBA aspirants are looking for. These factors can contribute to a more enriching and fulfilling MBA experience, which can be as important as securing good placements.
Which is better for good placements, NIT Warangal for Civil or JNTUH for CSE?
NIT Warangal is a renowned college. You can choose it if the NIT tag matters to you. Even civil students can sit for some IT companies during campus placements at NITW. But for that, you’ll have to take out time and study the important concepts of CS. The civil curriculum is good at NITW, but you’ll face difficulty in getting a core job.
On the other hand, JNTUH is also a good college. If studying CSE is your passion, you should choose this option. In this case, don’t seek the college name, and instead, opt for your branch of interest.
JNTUH will offer you good placements, and so will NITW. But if you choose Civil, you might not get a core job. You’ll have to learn coding on your own to land a good IT job during campus placement.
Which has better hostel facilities, NIT Surathkal or NIT Warangal?
One of my relatives has resided in NIT Warangal hostels. Based on his experience, I can give the following information:
- NIT Warangal has Asia's biggest hostel and it is given to B.Tech, M.Tech, and BCA freshers. There are both single and double rooms.
- On the ground floor, there is a snacks corner, Amul shop, and coffee and tea shops as well. This is a hangout place for all the students.
- There is another big hostel which is given to 3rd and 4th-year students with single and double rooms.
- For girls, the hostels are not as good as the boys’ hostels.
- In the first year, you will be accommodated with 4 people in one room due to space issues.
- You will also be restricted from moving out of the hostel at any time during 1st year.
- For the second-year students, an old hostel is provided where the washrooms desperately need renovation and the rooms are not in good condition.
- For 3rd and 4th year, you might get good rooms which will be spacious and comfortable. Although new hostels are being developed, the facilities might change in the coming years.
When talking about NIT Surathkal, the hostel facilities are fine. In the 1st and the 2nd year, you will have sharing rooms. From the 3rd year onwards you will get single accommodations. Internet connectivity in the hostels is not very good. The girls are provided washing machines. There is a night canteen on the hostel premises. For boys, there are no in and out timings.
Which is better for EC, NIT Calicut or NIT Warangal?
If you consider the official rankings, then NIT Warangal is better than NIT Calicut. But the reality is far from this. I don’t think the official rankings are credible enough to judge a college. Students need to consider other aspects also while choosing their college. For instance, proximity to home and the location of the college play a big role. That being said, Calicut is a great city with a good location. It has many places to explore such as restaurants and parks.
Students can also visit Goa which is quite close and enjoy short vacations on the beaches. good city and has some amazing restaurants. Also, Goa is nearby and so are many beach locations.
However, NIT Calicut has strict attendance criteria. So choose wisely!
Out of NIT Trichy, NIT Surathkal and NIT Warangal, which one is the best for a CSE?
The CSE from all three campuses is extremely sought after and has a high reputation in the job market. They are often compared to IITs. The choice between the two is therefore a matter of personal preferences.
Warangal gives a slight edge to Surathkal owing to its proximity to Hyderabad, the IT hub of India although the difference isn’t much noticeable. Surathkal has a slight advantage in terms of campus life and weather. It is the only college to have a private beach.
Ultimately, there aren’t any major differences between these colleges. If you want a better campus life go for Surathkal but if you want better academic opportunities go for NIT Warangal or NIT Trichy.
What will be the salary of NIT Warangal CSE engineer?
It varies based on your skills, abilities, and performance in the interview. The interviews are generally conducted in three rounds. The initial round is comparatively easy, which is the resume selection. NITW and IIIT Bangalore, both have an advantage in one aspect or the other-
- Research Culture- IIIT Bangalore has a better research culture than NITW.
- Coding Culture- Both have an equally good coding culture.
- Campus life and Extracurriculars- NITW is far ahead of IIITB in terms of campus life and extracurricular facilities.
- Peer Group- Both the institutes offer equally good peers. IIIT Bangalore does not follow any reservation system during admissions.
- Infrastructure- IIITB has a better and well maintained infrastructure.
- Location- Bangalore is a better location. It offers immense exposure and plenty of opportunities.
- Affordability and faculty- NIT Warangal is much more affordable, but the faculty at IIITB is better.
- Placements- Both B.Tech at NITW and iMTech at IIITB record equally good placements with nearly equal median salaries.
Both the colleges are good for your CS degree. You should choose between them based on your personal preferences.

In general, NIT Warangal is better in terms of placements, crowd quality, infrastructure, and faculty. Both institutes, however, have a similar ROI. NIT Surathkal hasn't released its placement statistics for the MCA program, so I have mentioned that of NIT Warangal only.

The placement percentage of NIT Warangal MCA placements stood at 96% while the same for NIT Surathkal stood at 88%. It clearly proves that NIT Warangal is a better option for MCA than NIT Surathkal. Moreover, in NIT Surathkal you will have to spend an extra year and spend extra money.

NIT Warangal, was amongst the first 10 NITs to be established, ranks 19th for engineering by NIRF while IIT Hyderabad is ranked 17rd by NIRF. Both these institutes are centres of excellence in academics and have cut-throat competition.

It is very tough to distinguish between these colleges as these are premier institutes of the nation. Infrastructurally they are almost at par with all facilities available.
