However, when you consider the foundation of a college, namely education and extracurricular activities, in terms of education, SSNC's History Department ranks among the top ten in Delhi University for some specific courses, along with the courses like Microbiology, Life Science, Botany, and Geography, SSNC. How good is a 7.82 SGPA in DU?

PG
Priyanshi Grover Posted On : October 7th, 2022
Bsc chem h from University of Delhi

It is up to you where you want your SGPA to be considered, and 7.82 SGPA, when combined with your other semester SGPA average, becomes CGPA only, which is converted to a percentage by multiplying it by 9.5, so 7.82 equals 74.29%.

If you want to apply for government jobs, you only need to have more than 60%. If you want to continue your education, it is up to the university; some will consider your graduation grade as an admission criterion.

If you want to take the CAT, for example, your graduation grade is very important. 7.82 is excellent if you come from an artistic background. If you come from a business background, 7.82 is fine. If you come from an artistic family, you should raise your score.

Simply put, 85% means that 9.0 SGPA in a Science course is equivalent to 75% in an Arts course.

What should I read to crack DU JAT BMS?

SS
Sarita Singh Posted On : October 7th, 2022
Studied at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies

The sources and preparation strategies that should be followed for cracking DU JAT BMS are mentioned below:

  • Quantitative Ability:

  1. NCERT XI-XII: This is the most important source you must thoroughly review in order to have a good chance of receiving SSCBS. Modern math accounts for 70% of the total questions asked in this section, which covers topics from classes XI-XII. Complex numbers, probability, P&C, matrices, differentiation, and arithmetic progressions are the most important topics.

  2. Objective Math textbook: Basic mathematics accounts for 30% of the quant section and includes topics such as time, speed, distance, averages, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

  3. Brush up on your Calculation: Being fast is the simplest way to get ahead of the competition. Make sure you understand squares up to 30, cubes up to 20, and can quickly add and multiply two and three-digit numbers. This would give you a competitive advantage.

  • General/ Business Awareness:

  1. Newspaper: Make it a habit to read the newspaper for at least an hour every day. Reading the whole thing is not necessary. Sports, economics, world news, and editorials are the most important sections.

  2. App Jagran Josh: It is the best online resource for improving your general knowledge and growing as a person in general. It publishes weekly current events and quizzes based on them, which aids in thorough preparation. You can also read monthly current affairs to get a detailed overview of the month. Make sure you read up on current events at least 7 months before the exam date.

  3. Google searches: The best thing to get ahead of others was to conduct specific Google searches. Make separate lists and thoroughly revise the important topics that appear frequently in JAT (national parks, geographical features, awards and honors, taglines).

  4. Pearson publication: Static GK is becoming increasingly important for acing the exam, so it is necessary to prepare for this section. You could use any static GK book. The Pearson book, on the other hand, is excellent.

  • Verbal Ability:

  1. Norman Lewis's Word Power: It is the best book for acknowledging your language skills even at the CAT level. The first half of the book based on word roots is less significant (very crucial in general) at the JAT level, and the second half of the book with a list of difficult words is the most essential component. Figure out how to learn those odd 800 words, and you'll be able to find keywords from the list.

  2. Bakshi, SP English objective: It is an excellent resource for preparing homonyms, antonyms, and synonyms. Also the best book for practicing one-word substitutions and idioms, which are two of the most important topics for JAT.

  • Logical Reasoning:

  1. It is the simplest topic to prepare for because the level of LR at JAT is beginner, and you should attempt all 25 questions in this section. To adequately prepare for all adversaries, you should solve CAT beginner-level LR questions.

These resources will assist you in properly preparing for the exam. Though it is only one component, your exam taking strategy will have a significant impact on your score.

What are DU college timings?

RR
Rajnikant Rajan Posted On : October 7th, 2022
B.A Geography from University of Delhi (Graduated 2016)

Delhi University has many colleges, and each college has its own schedule, but some of the things are consistent. It also depends on whether you were admitted to a morning or evening college.

The timings of morning colleges are - 8:30, 9:00, 9:30, and 10:00 AM

They usually end at - 12:30, 1:00, 1:30, 2:00, 2:30, 3:00, 3:30 PM.

It entirely depends on the scheduled college timing of each course. Some practical classes go on till 5 in the evening, as well. Timing is longer in colleges that only offer morning classes and do not offer evening classes.

Evening college classes begin at 1:00 PM, 1:30 PM, or 2:00 PM till 7.30 - 40 PM in the evening.

However, Saturday is unpredictable as few semesters conduct classes on Saturdays, as well and in some semesters, there are no classes on Saturdays.

With 95% in CBSE, should I try for a B.Com (Hons) from DU or pursue BBA from Christ University?

LK
Lakshay Kapoor Posted On : October 6th, 2022
Studied B.A. ECONOMICS (SSSIHL) at University of Delhi (Graduated 2018)

It all depends on what you want to do. Here are a few things to think about:

  • Flexibility -You have a lot of time at DU. You can study Actuarial Science, CFA, CFP, Data Analyst, CIMA, ACCA, CS, CWA, and many other things. As a result, more career opportunities are available at DU. Christ is very strict about attendance, and you don't have time, so you must concentrate solely on the course.

  • Fees - College fees are approximately Rs 12000 per year, as opposed to Rs 1,000,000 in Christ.

  • Exposure - There are numerous societies at DU that can provide excellent exposure. Society is better in Christ, but imagine 4000 students competing for that opportunity. Furthermore, DU departmental and college fest are better experiences for students than Christ because students manage everything from arranging funds to organizing every event without much help from authorities. Furthermore, you can compete in competitions organized by various DU colleges ranging from debate, music, and dance to mock stock, treasure hunt, and beg, borrow, and steal. However, because you are required to give regular presentations in class and because of the diversity of students, Christ aids in the development of an average person's personality.

  • Placement- At 95%, you can get DCAC or Shaheed Bhagat College, which do not have a placement boost of more than 20-30%. However, in Christ, you will receive more than 70% placement ( depends upon course though ). The average salary given is not significantly different. (Approximately 3 to 4). However, some companies that offer better packages do come in Christ ( i.e above 5 lac ) Some sales and marketing firms unrelated to your course may be present in DU.

  • Curriculum - The curriculum at DU is outdated and lacks a practical aspect, whereas at Christ, they will provide you with numerous case studies and a rigorous syllabus. During your three-year tenure at Christ, you will be required to complete an internship and work in an NGO.

  • Emotional Benefit - Because Christ has a good ranking, a large crowd, a great environment, and a good infrastructure, you will feel more confident. It might not be the case in DU.

  • Faculty- Professors at DU are far more qualified than those at other colleges, and some are published authors as well. However, because they are a government institution, some do not teach at all and waste time. There are a few who teach exceptionally well. In Christ, even if they are not college or research paper qualified, almost all of them teach and even encourage students to come to them.

  • Alumni & Peer Group - Alumni of Christ are not strong enough to make a significant impact. North campus colleges in DU have excellent alumni. In terms of the south campus, it is the same as Christ for colleges such as SBSC, DCAC, Gargi, and so on. Peer group is also similar in terms of hard work and intelligence (though it may be higher in DU). However, the overall alumni of Delhi University are far more accomplished than Christ ever will be.

Colleges also assist in providing an initial push. It makes no difference where you went to college once you get a job. So it all depends on your goals and the type of person you are. If you can plan and follow it, you will have more time to do things that will help you achieve your goals more easily because Delhi has the best coaching facilities for everything. If you simply cannot, choose Christ because you will be required to work due to regular assignments, which instills discipline in a person.

BS
Bhoomika Sharma Posted On : October 6th, 2022
MBA in Global Business from University of Delhi

An MBA from FMS at DU has the same reputation as an MBA from any IIM. You will be surprised to learn that students frequently leave IIM for FMS due to its extremely low fee structure.

The Faculty of Management Studies at Delhi University also offers a two-year MBA programme. The college emphasizes practical learning by hosting workshops and internship programmes on a regular basis. FMS Delhi placement ended on a mixed note, with 100% of students receiving job offers. The average salary package was 23.20 LPA, but the highest package dropped from 54 LPA to 48 LPA.

From a batch size of 216, 198 students participated in the process, with the remaining 18 opting out. The most notable achievement for the FMS placement 2019 was an increase in the average salary for female students, which increased to 25.10 LPA from 22.6 LPA previously.

DU FMS MBA programmes are among the best in India, with high educational standards and high returns on investment.
