The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has recognized and accredited two engineering colleges, Rewa Engineering College and Ujjain Engineering College in Madhya Pradesh.
Four courses from both colleges have received NBA accreditation: the mechanical course from Ujjain Engineering college and the Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering courses from Rewa Engineering College.
Earlier, the Rewa Engineering College failed to get recognition from the NBA due to a lack of infrastructure facilities. Still, now after impending the matter for over three years, the engineering college received the NBA accreditation.
Speaking about the accreditation, Dr. Sandeep Pandey, the principal in charge of the college, said the management of the college had sought NBA grading three years ago.
However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the education institution remained shut, halted the work. But now, the college administration has sent out an invitation to the NBA team for recognition.
According to a TOI report, Technical Education Minister Yashodhara Raje Scindia said the Rewa and Ujjain engineering colleges would be considered at par with national-level institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs).
A total of eight members from the NBA visited the institute. With recognition, the students getting placed from the Rewa and Ujjain Engineering colleges in prominent companies across India have strengthened.
With the NBA accreditation, the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) will increase grants and facilities to both the engineering colleges, the TOI report said.
