Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s SPJ Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) successfully concluded the placement drive for PGDM batch of 2021, with the highest CTC reaching INR 44 LPA. An E-commerce firm offered the same to 12 students from the Institute, which is 14% less than the highest package of the previous year.
SPJIMR Mumbai received the highest offer of INR 51 LPA last year for three of its students. In the academic year of 2020-21, the institute recorded a marginal dip in average CTC from INR 26.36 LPA to INR 25.86 LPA. Some students have managed to bag INR 30 lakh and above including the previous batch.
Consulting has come up as the top recruiting sector this year with placement offers to 36% of the batch out of a 233 batch strength at the institute.
Meanwhile this year, SPJIMR has successfully rounded off the placement drive for its PGDM students in a record time of 2 days albeit the COVID-19 pandemic blues that dawned on the business ecosystem worldwide.

Abbasali Gabula, Associate Director of SPJIMR added that despite the financial crisis and challenging environment, SPJIMR Mumbai Placement 2021 has maintained levels achieved in 2020 as they were able to adjust to online teaching.
Although Indian Corporates are in full swing to get back to business with efficiency, more than 131 firms visited the campus for placement drive.
Out of them, 50% of the firms were hiring for the first time and maximum offers were made from the consulting sector. Around 36% students were selected from this sector and 28% of the batch from previous years had received offers from consulting firms.
Some of the leading consulting firms are Boston Consulting Group, Accenture Strategy, Bain & Co., Infosys. Moreover, 18% of the students were selected from the FMCG sector this year.
The Institute organised Autumn internship with leading corporates like Amazon, Colgate Palmolive, Hindustan Unilever, Procter & Gamble and Tata Administrative Services. Half of the students received Pre-placement offers (PPO) through the internship programs.
