SP Jain School of Global Management has announced today the launch of 13 new online short courses for undergraduates, postgraduates, and working professionals.
The duration of these courses will be 30-60 hours and will serve the growing trend of upskilling in a fast-evolving and uncertain world. These courses will commence in July 2020.
According to the president of SP Jain, School of Global Management, Nitish Jain, Students who will take these courses will be taught using a brand-new learning environment known as Premium Learning Online (PLO.)
“The fundamental flaw of online education is that most online courses are unable to engage students. Students learn by doing; not listening.,” said Nitish.
The premium learning online courses that we are offering are taught live by top Indian and international faculty that have hand-picked by us for their proven success and expertise. This approach is called ‘Lab-style approach of learning’, and this is truly a game-changer, he further added.
What is the Lab-style approach?
In a lab-style approach, Every 15 minutes, students are given a practical problem to solve in a study group comprising 3-5 students.
Following this approach, students get the chance to apply theory to practice in a fun, engaging manner, and get immediate actionable feedback. After which a spokesperson presents the findings to the rest of the class.
Course Details
One of the lead faculty teaching these courses, Dr. Silvia Vianello an Italian social media influencer who has been featured in Forbes’ list of Top 100 Italian Women has said that the curriculum is action-packed with projects, case studies, group discussions, and more.
She further said that the objective of these courses is to make sure that students develop in-demand and relevant skills to enhance their employability.
A 30-hour course by Dr. Silvia named - “How to become a social media influencer” is open, and classes will commence on July 12.
