AIIMS Bilaspur 2022: As per the statement made by Rajya Sabha Member, JP Nadda, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bilaspur is expected to become functional by June 2022. 

The Rajya Sabha Member, JP Nadda further stated that the inauguration of AIIMS Bilaspur is more likely to be done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The statement was made during the inauguration ceremony of the Outpatient Department (OPD) of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bilaspur. The medical institute is now under construction. 

Following the construction, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bilaspur will have a total of 750 beds and various medical facilities. The institute will add to the overall medical facilities available for students and people of Himachal Pradesh.

During the inauguration event, the Rajya Sabha Member, JP Nadda added that as of now the annual expenditure of AIIMS Bilaspur is INR 2,000 crore in total. To facilitate a total of 22 AIIMS in the country, a budget of INR 44,000 crore has been set. 

“Setting up of AIIMS campuses outside Delhi was a vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The first AIIMS was established in Delhi way back in 1960. At present, as many as 22 AIIMS were coming up in the entire country,” JP Nadda said.

Talking about AIIMS Bilaspur, Nadda said that the foundation stone of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bilaspur was laid by Prime Minister Narender Modi in the year 2020.

The construction work for the same was expected to be finished by 2021. However, the work was further delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in the country, he stated.

Speaking at the event, Union Minister Mandaviya added that AIIMS is known to be one of the best medical institutes in the country which is run by the Union Government. 

Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur added that the dream of having an AIIMS at Himachal Pradesh will soon become a reality due to the efforts of PM Modi and JP Nadda. 

“The AIIMS will have 750 beds, ICUs, and several operation theatres spread over 250 acres,” he further added.
