Patna University: Pending Exams to be Held From November 24; Check Details Here


Patna University has released the schedule for the final exams of B.A., B.Com, and B.Sc. part 2 students. It will now take place from November 24 to December 1. This will be followed by Patna University exams for part 1 students of the same courses which will be held between December 4 to 21.

Patna University had earlier decided to delay the exams in view of the coming state Assembly elections. Also, the delay came in view amidst the increasing COVID cases in the state. and the threat posed by the pandemic.

Many Students Facing Problems Due to Lack of Clarity

In spite of the declaration of a schedule, many students of vocational courses are still left hanging. There has been no announcement or even a reference to the examination schedule regarding their courses. The students are left with no choice but to go on with their studies and hope for some clarity on the situation soon.

Even students from the courses for which the examination schedule has been released are facing problems. The Patna University had promoted students of part 1 and part 2 to the next grade without any assessment to keep the academic session on track with the calendar.

Problems With Syllabus

However, this decision has now spectacularly backfired on the students. Due to the unique nature of the events, the University has decided to include topics from both the first year and the current year. This has left many students ruing the poor administrative policies of the University.

A first-year student of Magadh Mahila College stated that since they were taking classes of the second year, recalling even the basic first-year topics was difficult. According to her, it has been many months since classes for the new year started and it would be difficult to retain and recall what was taught previously.

Another student lamented that if only the University had taken proper measures, the students would not be in such a situation. He further went on to say that he doubted many students will secure good marks this year. 

Comments From Patna University

RK Mandal, the Patna University controller of examination officially commented that the exams will be conducted according to the Covid guidelines in six exam centers. He also said that the head of institutions would notify the students regarding the schedule for practical or viva.
