New Delhi: UGC Chairman, Professor M Jagadesh Kumar has recently announced that Foreign candidates, NRIs and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) can now submit their registrations for the Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET UG 2023).

Candidates who belong to foreign, NRI or OCI categories can choose their nationality in the CUET UG 2023 registration form through the drop-down menu. National Testing Agency has informed that CUET UG 2023 exam will be held for such candidates in 24 cities outside India.

Informing about this decision, UGC Chairman said, "CUET-UG is not compulsory for admission to UG programmes in Indian universities for candidates having a foreign passport. Each university may have its own transparent admission process for admitting foreign students".

"However, if some foreign students wish to write CUET-UG in the 24 test centres in foreign countries, they can write. However, it is up to the university to use either CUET-UG score or other means", he further added.

Foreign and NRI candidates who wish to register for CUET UG 2023 are advised to visit the university/institute's website to check the admission policy regarding quota category, reservation criteria and other related information for admissions.

Earlier, NTA started the registration process for CUET UG 2023 on February 9, 2023. Following the CUET 2023 Exam Schedule, interested and eligible candidates can submit their application form on the official website at cuet.samarth.ac.in till March 12, 2023.

Applicants must note that applications submitted after the given deadline will not be considered by the exam authority. The CUET 2023 will be held for registered candidates from May 21 to May 31, 2023. For the latest updates on CUET UG 2023, visit cuet.samarth.ac.in.
