New Delhi: SVKM’s NMIMS, Bengaluru hosted the 11th Convocation Day to felicitate the students of the School of Business Management (SBM) Bengaluru Campus upon their completion of the MBA, PGDM-Executive and PGDBFS Programmes.
The ceremony was hosted on April 21, 2022, at Sathya Sai Samskruta Sadanam, Bengaluru. Ms. Meenakshi Srinivasan, IBM, was the Hon’ble Chief Guest of the ceremony.
The convocation ceremony was also attended by Dr. Ramesh Bhat, the Vice-Chancellor, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) and Dr. Rajendra Nargundkar, Director, NMIMS Bengaluru and many other renowned personnels.
A total of 214 students including the 175 students from the MBA programme, 30 students from the PGDM Executive programme and 9 students from the PGDBFS 2 programme attended the ceremony.

The gold medal winners of the MBA programme are Sagun Agarwal (First Rank), Garvi Samariya (Second Rank) and Shweatlana Mahapatra (Third Rank).
The gold medal winners from the PGDM Executive programme are Raj Pratap Solanki (First Rank), Sudheer Kumar Lanka (Second Rank). The gold medal winner from the PGDBFS 2 programme is Sowmya Ganesh (First Rank). The degree was conferred by Dr. Ramesh Bhat and the ceremony was facilitated by Dr. Rajendra Nargundkar.
During the ceremony, it was also announced that NMIMS Bengaluru is in the process of signing a MoU with Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University, US. This is to establish a dual degree programme that can be pursued by the NMIMS MBA students after completing their first year.
“The MoU is in process and is in its final stages. We are also seeking more international collaborations like this in the near future. We are already a part of the Exchange programs for short-term exchange or higher studies with several international universities through our Mumbai office of International Linkages”, as further stated by Dr. Bhat.
In her speech, Ms. Srinivasan urged the students to be more passionate in whatever they do and to work towards a work-life integration for further betterment.
Dr. Bhat further has commented on how the MBA programme at NMIMS Bengaluru campus offers an Analytics Specialisation, keeping in mind the Bengaluru market as a hub for higher education for students from the Southern and Eastern part of the country, as an ‘Eastern Education Corridor’.
“In the MBA program, we have been consistent with 100 percent placement for the 11th year in succession. A few prominent recruiters this year were VMware, Dell, Accenture, ICICI Bank, HSBC, E&Y, KPMG, JP Morgan, Britannia and MTR. The average salary this year was Rs. 11.8 lakhs per annum and the highest salary offered being Rs 19.6 lakhs per annum for students in the MBA Program”, as explained by Dr. Bhat.

In future, Karnataka State and the Eastern Corridor comprising other states are expected to benefit immensely from these students from both MBA, BBA, B.Com, B.Sc., Economics and other programmes. One of the major advantages of NMIMS is that it produces well trained students who further reduce the training costs.
Speaking about the achievement, Dr. Rajendra Nargundkar referred to the Corporate Connect Event hosted in March 2022, to get feedback on the new MBA Curriculum. Seeking help from these stakeholders and their suggestions, NMIMS is further going to expand its overall intake capacity along with the number of faculty within the next 2-3 years.
