NIT Srinagar Signs MoU with CIIIT Baramulla For Academic Excellence; Check Details


New Delhi: NIT Srinagar and the Centre for Invention, Innovation, Incubation, and Training (CIIIT) Government Polytechnic College Baramulla under the Directorate of Skill Development, Government of Jammu and Kashmir recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The MOU was signed by Professor Rakesh Sehgal, Director of NIT Srinagar and Er Altaf Gowhar, Principal of Government Polytechnic College, Baramulla.

The event was attended by Professor M F Wani, Dean of R&C, Dr. Shahid Saleem, Head of T&P, Dr. Saad Parvez, Head of IIEDC, Dr. Dinesh Kumar, A.P. MED, and other academic members from Government Polytechnic College Baramulla.

MoU To Promote Academic Collaboration:

Professor (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal, director of NIT Srinagar, stated that this MOU will further develop links between the two schools. He stated that it is undoubtedly a source of great delight that scientific institutions are signing the historic MOU.

"This MOU will be implemented for the benefit of students, instructors, and other staff members at both institutions. It will allow us to assist mankind through technological aspects", he continued.

Professor Sehgal deemed it a very positive development as the MoU will promote academic partnership and beneficial research collaboration between two famous Jammu and Kashmir technology institutions. He stated that we are looking forward to the combined research initiatives and student exchange programs.

Identification Of The Existing Skills Gap:

Professor M F Wani, Dean of Research and Consultancy (R&C) at NIT Srinagar, stated that NIT Srinagar will partner with CIIIT Baramulla to identify the present skill gaps in the Technical workforce in the fields of Manufacturing Technology and Automobile Engineering.

"NIT Srinagar will recommend the training course that will be implemented to close this gap. "Both parties will work to promote and support promotional initiatives in the field of skill development," he stated.

"Both students will have access to internships around the country. This memorandum of understanding will give students vital mentor ties, sometimes beginning with a personal connection that enriches their experience," stated Professor Syed Kaiser Bukhari, Registrar of the Institute.

Er. Altaf Gowhar, principal of Government Polytechnic College, Baramulla, stated that this MOU will foster creativity, incubation among students, and technical manpower to produce new products, technologies, and new businesses.

The duty of IIIT, Government Polytechnic Baramulla, according to him, is to supply the essential infrastructures, such as machinery, tools, and materials, as well as the human resources needed to undertake such skill-based training.

Enhancement Of Skills And Understanding:

According to the MOU, both universities are interested in partnering for the benefit of engineering students and the technical Manpower of NIT Srinagar to improve their skills and expertise for greater employability.

It seeks to bring about qualitative improvements by enhancing skills in Manufacturing Technology and Automobile Engineering. The MoU document indicates that it will boost the employability of engineering students and help MSMEs and local industry.

It said that the objective was to foster creativity, student incubation, and technical manpower to develop new goods and technology.
