NIT Srinagar Gets Regional Center of IIChE; Read Details Here

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) has advanced the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar to Regional Centre status. In addition to this, a 2022 graduate from NIT Srinagar was recently recognised at CHEMCON 2022 as the most versatile female chemical engineering student.

Talking about this achievement, Director Prof Rakesh Sehgal of NIT Srinagar said it is a wonderful time for the institute. According to him, the regional center's main goal is to advance and supplement the goals and initiatives of the institute within its boundaries.

The Director congratulated Bushra Makhdoomi, a graduate of the class of 2022, for receiving the 2022 Most Versatile Chemical Engineering Student (Female) Award. He also praised Tanveer Rasool, coordinator of the IIChE student chapter, for his efforts.

Prof. Syed Kaiser Bukhari, Registrar of NIT Srinagar, said, “Over the past several years, NIT Srinagar has signed several Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with institutions across the globe. It is emerging as the hub of knowledge and other activities.” 

Earlier, NIT Srinagar has also taken an initiative to promote academic collaboration. For this, the institute has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CIIIT Baramulla. The MOU was signed by Professor Rakesh Sehgal, Director of NIT Srinagar in August 2022.

Talking about the initiative, Professor (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal, director of NIT Srinagar, stated that this MOU will further develop links between the two schools. He stated that it is undoubtedly a source of great delight that scientific institutions are signing the historic MOU.

"This MOU will be implemented for the benefit of students, instructors, and other staff members at both institutions. It will allow us to assist mankind through technological aspects", he continued.
