National Law University Delhi forms S K Malik Chair; Check Details


New Delhi: National Law University, Delhi in collaboration with Vishwa Nath and Santosh Bakshi Educational Trust has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to initiate the S K Malik Chair on Access to Justice in the university.

In an official statement issued by the NLU it was mentioned that, “We are pleased to announce the establishment of the SK Malik Chair on Access to Justice in the memory of Late Shri Sudershan Kumar Malik, a criminal law practitioner who worked extensively to provide free legal aid to the poor and weaker sections of society."

NLU further added that, "Through the work done under the aegis of the Chair, at NLU Delhi will add to its rich history of engaging with access to justice initiatives through pro bono interventions, teaching and research."

NLU also tweeted on the matter saying, "Through this Chair, NLUD will extend the legacy of Shri S. K. Malik and work to promote access to justice for all."

NLU Delhi also invites Research Fellow Applications

NLU Delhi's Centre for Law, Justice, and Development (CLJD) is accepting applications for a research fellow position. Candidates applying for the post must fulfill certain eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants must have a five-year/three-year LLB degree or a postgraduate degree in law 
  • At least one year of professional experience in socio-legal research, good research and writing skills, and strong verbal communication skills
  • Proper knowledge of MS Office and internet platforms.

NLU Delhi Research Fellow: How to Apply 

By April 2nd, 2022, all applications must be addressed to cljd@nludelhi.ac.in (Wednesday 5.00 pm). 

'Research Fellow Application - CLJD' must be the topic of the email. The notification states that emails lacking this title will be ignored. Other application requirements include a two-sided A-4 sheet curriculum vitae, a 500-word Statement of Purpose, and a writing sample.
