MUSB Replicates Medical-School Model in MBA Education, Check What Difference it Makes

Masters’ Union School of Business(MUSB), Gurgaon, a leading Business School with Global curriculum and unique pedagogy is all set to replicate the Medical-School model in MBA education.

The B-school, Masters’ Union of Business is attempting something remarkable in the field of business education. They assure students to gain practical knowledge, allowing them close acquaintance with business and investment as a part of their learning. This helps the students to be prepared and have a bonus over other students when they enter the real world.

However, some of the renowned B-schools are facing criticism for being away from Practice, and Learning Theory when students actually expect to know real business skills. While few global B-schools such as Harvard have made attempts to change their pedagogy (Harvard FIELD program, for instance), a great initiative is being made in India by Masters’ Union.

Modelling itself on Medical School, Master’s Union has opted a concept most-associated with medicine and followed it to business education.

The concept of medical schools comprises of teaching at hospitals, wherein students closely work with doctors to treat patients, know about conditions first-hand, and find the diagnoses and treatment plans under the supervision of doctors. They work with doctors, learning and observing, throughout their course as students.

The same approach will be taken by the Master’s Union. It will offer students hands-on experience, learn-on-the-job approach. Thus the students won’t simply learn from books and solve years-old problem sets. Students will get a chance to take an active role in their education, shaping it rather than absorbing the knowledge thrown at them.

Masters’ Union would also allow the students to participate in activities and tasks they would perform at work. The teachings would not just be limited to a classroom—they will travel with their Masters to office, they incubate start-ups, the network vigorously, they would run investment funds. It will guide them to make lasting relations, essentially network, making lobbying for great jobs in the future easy.
