New Delhi: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad, has been awarded various certificates from International Organization for Standardization (ISO), according to Telangana Today.

The ISO accreditation for JNTUH serves as validation for enhanced member acquisition and service, greater internal management and resilience, less resource waste, and advances in efficiency, productivity, and profit.

The university has received certifications for implementing energy-saving practises, preparing, processing, and handing out food at hostels, implementing green space and environmental promotional strategies, offering educational services, and sustaining green zones, rain harvesting, and pollution control practises.

It has also been recognised with ISO 50001: 2018, ISO 22000: 2018, ISO 14001: 2015, and ISO 9001: 2015 awards. The certifying agency conducted a comprehensive investigation before awarding the certifications.

According to a university circular, the institution has also quadrupled the grace marks for students who enrolled in standard BTech first-year programmes in 2018 but were unable to pass the subjects from 15 to 30.

Instead of only three courses like it is currently, all theory subjects will be subject to higher grace marks. Only those pupils are entitled to grace marks if they took the exam but failed.

The grace marks have been raised from 12 to 23 for students who entered as lateral entries during the second year of BTech in 2019. The enhanced grades will be applied to all theory subjects, just like for normal students.
