New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has begun the registration process for the JEE Main 2023 Exam. Interested candidates can apply through the official website till November 30, 2023. 

As per the schedule released for, JEE Main 2024, the exam will be held from January 24- February 1, 2024. The JEE Main 2024 Result will be announced on February 12, 2024. 

 The NTA will conduct the JEE Main exam for two papers - BE, BTech and BArch, BPlanning. Like last year, the exam will be conducted in 13 languages - English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

How to Register for JEE Main 2024

Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps to register for JEE Main 2024:

  • Visit the official website of JEE main at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
  • Click on JEE Main 2024 session 1 registration link available on the home page.
  • Enter the registration details and click on submit.
  • Once done, login to the account and fill the application form.
  • Make the payment of application fees and click on submit.
  • Download the page and keep a hard copy of the same for further need.

JEE Main 2024 Syllabus Reduced for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry

NTA has issued a notice on November 1, 2023 declaring the reduction in PCM syllabus. The maximum number of topics were scrapped off from Chemistry. Here is a list of the topics reduced from the subjects:

  • A few topics were removed from Three Dimensional Geometry.

NTA Changes JEE Main Website

NTA has changed the JEE Main official website to jeemain.nta.ac.in. All the informations regarding JEE Main 2024 Uploaded on the old website has been updated in the new one. Candidates should note that all future notices regarding JEE Main 2024 Exam will be uploaded on the new website. 

“Till now, NIC (National Informatics Centre) used to host the online application forms of the JEE Main. Now NTA has developed this new platform and is in the process of using its own server for activities related to hosting the online application forms, and generating the city intimation slip, admit card, and score card, etc,” said a senior official. 

The new website also has an automated chat which will serve as an online assistant for aspirants. Students will be able to find this online chat option at the bottom right corner.

JEE Main 2023 admit card

JEE Main session 1 admit card will be issued to only those students who complete the registration within the given time. The admit card issued provisionally to the candidates through the NTA website - jeemain.nta.ac.in. 

JEE Main 2024: New website this year

NTA has launched a new website – jeemain.nta.ac.in – where students can find all the latest updates related to the exam. Previously, it was jeemain.nta.nic.in.

JEE Main 2024: No change in marking scheme

JEE Main 2024 will be held in the same marking scheme followed last year.

Each subject – Physics, Chemistry and Maths – is divided into two sections. Section A has 30 questions and section B has 10, meaning the total number of questions in the paper will be 90.

However, a candidate has to attempt only five questions from section B (15 in total), which means the total number of questions to be attempted is 75.

There will be negative marking in both sections.

Session 1: Between January 24 and February 1, 2024

Session 2: Between April 1 and 15, 2024

JEE Main 2024: NTA's warning about multiple applications

“Under no circumstances, candidates will be allowed to fill more than one Application Form. Strict action will be taken, even at a later stage, against such candidates who have filled more than one Application Form,” NTA said.

JEE Main 2024 session 1: NTA's instructions for registration

Candidates have to select any one of the following options to register for JEE Main:

  • To log in/create a DigiLocker account through the NAD portal.
  • To log in/create an Academic Bank of Credits ID (ABC ID) through the ABC ID.
  • To log in using an Indian Indian Passport Number.
  • To log in using a Non-Indian Passport Number.
  • To log in using a PAN Card Number.
  • To log in using an Aadhaar Enrollment Number.

The NTA has advised to register through Digi Locker/ABC ID. Those who do not wish to register through the DigiLocker / ABC ID need to report one hour prior to the entry time at the examination eentre on the day of the examination.

Candidates need to select options for authentication at the examination centre:

  • Authenticate through an Aadhaar Card
  • Authenticate through Valid Government ID with a Photograph
JEE Mains 2024 session 1: Document's required

Scanned images of photograph, Signature, and PwD Certificate/UDID Card (Swawlamban Card), wherever applicable)

The passport photo should be recent, color or black and white, taken against a white background, with 80 per cent of the face including ears visible. Do not wear mask.

The scanned photograph and signature should be in JPG/JPEG format only and clearly legible.

The size of the scanned photograph should be between 10 kb to 200 kb.

The size of the scanned signature should be between 4 kb to 30 kb.

The size of the scanned copy of the PwD certificate should be in pdf between 50 kb to 300 kb.

JEE Main Exam 2023: Apply for both sessions

A candidate has the option to apply for one Session or for both Sessions (Session 1 and Session 2 of 2024) together and pay the exam fee accordingly.

JEE Mains 2023 Exam: In 13 languages

JEE (Main) - 2024 will be conducted in 13 languages i.e. English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
