New Delhi: IIT Roorkee is offering a Master in Design (MDes) program for the academic session of 2023-24. Candidates Interested in the program can apply online. The last date to apply is extended till April 20, 2023 from April 14, 2023.

IIT Roorkee is offering a Master in Design (MDes) program in the domain of Industrial design. Interested students can head to the official portal of IIT Roorkee at iitr.ac.in

To apply for IIT Roorkee Admissions 2023, interested candidates must have a 4-year undergraduate degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% score and Mathematics as one of the subjects in 10+2.

A 5% relaxation is also offered to the reserved candidates. 

In addition, a 2-year work experience is mandatory for full-time sponsored candidates. Students are shortlisted on the basis of the CEED/ GATE entrance test followed by the Aptitude Test and Personal Interview.

Candidates looking forward to apply for admission to the IIT Roorkee M.Des Course can now check the detailed Eligibility criteria mentioned below:

• A 4-year UG degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% score and Mathematics as one of the subjects in 10+2 
• A 2-year experience is mandatory for full-time sponsored candidates
• Final year students of relevant undergraduate programs who have completed the requirements of qualifying examination can also apply. In case of non-availability of the marksheet of final examination at the time of the Interview due to delay in the announcement of their results, candidates may be allowed to appear in the interview on the basis of their aggregate results upto pre-final year in which the percentage should not be less than as specified above under essential requirements. However, they will be required to submit the proof of having passed the qualifying examination with the required percentage or CGPA latest by the deadline specified for academic registration, failing which their admission will be forfeited.

Aptitude Test and Personal Interview 

A certain number of candidates shall be called for Aptitude Testand Personal Interview. Invitation letters shall be sent to the shortlisted candidates for AT and PI through email. This information will also be available on Department website / Institute Website.

 Admission Offer 

Based on the aggregate performance a merit list shall be drawn for offering provisional admission to the Program. Provisional admission offers shall be sent by email at the mailing address as given in the application form. This information will also be available on the Department Website / Institute website. The candidates offered provisional admission should deposit full fee latest by the date specified in the provisional admission offer letter failing which their candidature for admission may stand cancelled. Asystem of registration is followed for all the students joining the Institute. The selected candidates will have to register personally as per the schedule.

Step 2: From the homepage, Click on “Students,” select “Admission”. Click on “MDes” and proceed to Apply.
