The IIT Palakkad Course will be held through an online platform as two sessions per day, from 7.30 AM to 9.00 AM and 7.30 PM to 9.00 PM, between January 17 and January 29, 2022.
Dr. Sabya Mishra will be the speaker and Dr. B. K. Bhavathrathan will be the organizer of the GIAN course. Interested candidates must note that the course registration will be limited based on the VC software’s capacity.

The course on Transportation Planning in the Context of Autonomous Mobility seeks to provide an overview of emerging technologies in transportation in North America focusing mainly on the following.
- (i) Autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicles and their driving capabilities.
- (ii) New technology-enabled models of taxi services and public transit.
- (iii) Technology intrusions in urban transport, freight and urban goods movement trajectory paths.
- (iv) New forms of technology-enabled shared-use mobility.
- (v) Advances in alternative fuel technologies and impact on infrastructure at international, national, state and metropolitan levels.
The participants will be introduced to primary terms, key concepts and issues related to such technological innovations as CAVs, autonomous transit.
They will be provided with a comprehensive concept based on the expected policy implications on the integration of emerging technologies with the major transportation modes.
The course will include discussion regarding the availability of approaches to model vehicle ownership, adoption and prioritization of transport modes with autonomous technology toolkit on board including a concise description of the state-of-the-art mathematical models of adoption of such transport modes, both at the consumer and organization level.
Further, the participants will get an opportunity to use open-source software and work on international case studies during the course duration.
