New Delhi: IIT Madras' Alumni has launched a new website, www.askiitm.com for IIT Madras aspirants to clear their doubts and queries on a variety of topics including placement, academics, faculty, and campus culture.
Aspirants seeking admission to the IIT Madras can now browse the website, find answers to questions that have already been posted on the site or pose the questions of their own. The website is an initiative run by the alumni of the institute.
Professor V Kamakoti, Director, IIT-Madras, urged the JEE students to use the website, 'AskIITM' because there is so much material available in the social media that can be confusing.
Expressing his contentment, he said that there is a critical requirement for a reliable source of information and that is being offered through Askiitm by the dedicated alumni of the prestigious institute.
He stated that anyone can use the website to ask a question about the institute, and a group of alumni and student volunteers will respond through email and/or Whatsapp within 48 hours.
The new query/questions would be posted on the website for the benefit of others. Professor Mahesh Panchagnula, Dean (Alumni and Corporate Relations), IIT Madras, discussed the same and said that the alumni are best qualified to respond to inquiries about IIT-Madras as they have first-hand knowledge of both the institute and job placements following graduation.
As a part of the initiative, the IIT-Madras Alumni Association is organizing interaction events in Chennai, Hyderabad, and Vijayawada between September 2 and.
According to the IIT Madras release, the JEE candidates can attend the events and ask questions to the director and any alumni present. There are also virtual tours of the campus and departments on September 10 - 11, 2022.

Amrit Vatsa, the creative director behind the project, said that the alumni hopes to provide credible answers from an insider’s perspective via the AskIITM website.
