IIT Jammu’s First-Ever Convocation Ceremony Conducted on Jan 9; Read Details Here

January 10, 2021: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu has conducted its first-ever convocation on January 09, 2021, in hybrid mode for the first batch of engineers. 

During the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Jammu Convocation Ceremony, a total of 79 students from Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering Departments were conferred with B. Tech Degrees. 

Out of 79 graduates, 39 candidates who were present at the campus received their degrees, while the remaining 40 candidates were given their degrees through online means.

Director's Gold Medal was awarded to Computer Science and Engineering department student, Aakar Sharma for outstanding all-round performance, and Institute Silver Medal for securing the highest CGPA in his department.

Additionally, Taijaswaini Agarwal, who secured the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) in the university was awarded the President of India Gold Medal during the event. 

IIT Jammu Convocation Ceremony 2021 was addressed by Padma Bhushan awardee Indian American electrical engineer, Professor Arogyaswamy J Paulraj. During the event, he addressed the students and delivered the message of excellence to the graduates. 

Junior Students of IIT Jammu later presented a song for graduates, while the institute presented a website showcasing graduate batch memories. 

Chairman, and Board of Governors, Sharad Kumar Saraf, along with director Professor Manoj Singh Gaur, Chairman, Convocation committee, Professor Ashoke K Sarkar, and Registrar, IIT Jammu Colonel Sanjay Dahiya was also presented at IIT Jammu Convocation Ceremony 2021.
