New Delhi: IIT Delhi Office of Career Services (OCS) has commenced the two-day annual career fest ‘Pravritti 2022’, from today April 18, 2022 with the theme “Reshaping Chances to Choices”.
According to the official statement of IIT Delhi, Pravritti 2022 comprises events such as jobs and internships fair, virtual industry tours, human library with alumni, panel discussions, leadership talks etc. Students from IITs and other institutes can also participate in the event.
Several non-hiring events are also open to non-IIT Delhi students in virtual mode. The annual career fest, Pravritti 2022 is scheduled to be held between April 18 and 19, 2022, in a hybrid mode.
The institute revealed that the key aim of the annual fest is to train and prepare students, assist them to connect with organisations and industry and enable them to gain a perspective on various career avenues so that they make informed career decisions.
Speaking about Pravritti 2022 fest, IIT Delhi Director Rangan Banerjee said that the institute is organising the career fest to assist students in understanding company requirements and enable them to identify career options that match their strengths and interests. Over 100 companies will be visiting including all activities scheduled in the fest.
The keynote address will be given by Vineet Rai, Founder and Chairman of Aavishkaar Group virtually at the opening ceremony of Pravritti 2022, between 1- 2 PM. Rai will address the audience regarding the influence of impact investing, creating socially and environmentally conscious organisations and careers in the sector.
Earlier, the registration link of the annual career fest, Pravritti 2022, was open from March 24 to April 12, 2022. Some of the workshops and events to be held at the fest are Insights into TOEFL and GRE, Cracking FAANG SDE interviews, UPSC career guidance, Storytelling through Data, and Cracking Machine Learning Interview.
A leadership talk on "From Tech-education to Tech-Innovation in a premiere institute" will be given by Dr. Sarita Ahlawat, Co-founder, Botlabs Dynamics Pvt, Ltd, an IIT-Delhi incubated Startup.
Companies Can Hire Students at IIT Delhi Career Fest ‘Pravritti 2022
During the IIT Delhi annual career fest, the companies can also hire the students by conducting selection processes and extending job offers, later on.
The statement said that around 20 top-notch companies are expected to visit the campus physically. Around 50 organisations will be conducting selection processes, virtually. These students will be hired for jobs and internships.
With the help of non-hiring events in the fest, the institute aims to provide insights and multidimensional perspectives on career avenues in multiple sectors ranging from new age sectors like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Blockchain Technology, Digital Currency and traditional sectors like Analytics, Civil Services, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Higher Education and Core Technical by senior industry experts.
The competitive events, workshops and virtual industry tours will include insights on skills required to be successful in the aspirants' selection processes, the IIT Delhi statement said.
Recently, the institute hosted its Annual Science and Technology Festival "Tryst 2022” from April 15 to April 17, which primarily focused on offering a platform for emerging engineers to demonstrate their technical prowess and serve as an ideal launchpad for innovative ideas.
