IISER Tirupati PhD Admission 2022 Open; Last Date to Apply is April 18

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati, Admissions 2022 has begun the application process for the PhD programs for the academic July 2022 Session. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form through the official portal, @iisertirupati.ac.in. 

IISER, Tirupati offers PhD programs in Biology, Chemistry, Physics associated interdisciplinary areas of research. Candidates seeking admission to the programme can submit their applications till April 18, 2022. 

IISER, Tirupati PhD Admission 2022: Highlights 

The institute has different eligibility requirements for admissions into the PhD programme. The eligibility criteria varies for each specialization offered under the PhD program. 

The applicant should not be more than 28 years at the time of joining. Age relaxation of 3 years will be given for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and 5 years for SC/ST/PWD/Female candidates according to the GOI norms.

IISER Tirupati PhD Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must satisfy the following eligibility criteria to enroll for admissions into the PhD courses offered at IISER Tirupati. 

Eligibility Criteria for PhD Chemistry:

• Candidates must have a 10-point scale in master’s degree in any branch of Science: Physics/ Chemistry/Mathematics/Biology or ME/M.Tech or any equivalent degree along with a minimum 55% marks in aggregate (overall percentage; with all subjects) or CGPA 6.0. 

• Candidates holding a BE/B.Tech. degree with minimum 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage; not only in majoring subject) or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale are also eligible to apply.

• Candidates must have qualified for CSIR/ UGC-JRF/ INSPIRE PhD Fellowships/Any other National Fellowships

Eligibility Criteria for Biology:

• Candidates must have a minimum 55% marks in aggregate (overall percentage including all subjects) or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale in Master’s degree in any branch of Science Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/Biological Sciences/ Ecological Sciences/Agricultural Sciences/ Psychology M.Tech/ M.VSc or MBBS degree or any equivalent degree.

• Candidates holding a BE/B.Tech degree with at least 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage including all subjects) or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale can also apply.

• Candidates must have qualified for DBT-JRF-A/ ICMR-JRF/ DBT-BINC/ UGC-CSIR JRF/ DST-INSPIRE-JRF/Any other National Fellowships.

Eligibility Criteria for Physics:

• Candidates with at least 55% marks in aggregate (overall percentage; not only in majoring subject) or CGPA 6.0 on a 10-point scale in Master’s degree in any branch of Science: Physics/Astronomy & Astrophysics/Chemistry/Mathematics/Biology or M.E./M.Tech. or any equivalent degree can apply. 

• Candidates holding a BE/B.Tech degree with at least 60% marks in aggregate (overall percentage; not only in majoring subject) or CGPA 6.5 on a 10-point scale are eligible to apply.

• Candidates must have been awarded CSIR-JRF or UGC-JRF or INSPIRE PhD.

• Candidates belonging to reserved category are required to submit relevant certificates, if selected. Relaxation may also be given whenever suitable candidates are not available, in exceptional circumstances.

IISER Tirupati PhD Admission 2022: Selection Process

• Firstly the applicants are shortlisted on the basis of their performance in the national entrance exams. 
• Shortlisted candidates then have to appear for personal interviews conducted online.
• The final selection is based on interview performance.
• Applying does not automatically guarantee that a candidate will be shortlisted for an interview. 
• The respective departments may use additional criteria on the basis of academic performance and/or performance in the national level tests to shortlist candidates for online interviews.

Candidates are required to follow the steps mentioned below to apply for the Ph.D program at IISER Tirupati:

• Visit the official application portal of IISER Tirupati @iisertirupati.ac.in. 
• Register yourself after filling the required details, such as Mobile number, Email Id etc.
• Now, login with your registration credentials and fill all details in the Application form.
• Pay the application fee and submit the Application form. 
• Applicants must also take a print out of the form for all future needs.
