IIM Trichy Launches the 23rd Annual Meeting of IIM Libraries Consortium

New Delhi: IIM Tiruchirappalli has officially launched the 23rd annual meeting of the IIM Libraries Consortium.

The inaugural event of IIM Trichy marked the beginning of the 2-day meet which involved sharing of best practices in IIM libraries and demonstrations of products and services by more than 25 top publishers and service providers.

IIM Tiruchirappalli Director Prof. Pawan Kumar Singh attended the occasion and spoke to the distinguished audience.

In his speech, he emphasised on how important it is for an institute to have a library in the transdisciplinary world of today.

He highlighted the significance of regularly updating and adding resources to the library, as well as acting prudently with money.

Further, he pointed out the necessity for all IIMs to work together and support one another in providing the resources necessary to deliver managerial education.

According to Shri M.K. Singh, Librarian at IIM Lucknow, who spoke to the audience said that IIM Libraries Consortium plays a critical role in ensuring that students have access to all the materials they need to acquire intellectual knowledge.

He highlighted how the consortium's facilitation of cooperation and coordination allows all IIMs to access resources that they might not otherwise be able to get. When his speech was concluded, the IIM Libraries Consortium members were introduced.

The welcome address was delivered by Prof. Suresh Paul Antony, Chair of the IIM Tiruchirappalli Library Committee. The students and librarians from the IIMs across the nation received a warm welcome from him.

In order for them to all benefit from one another's experiences, he encouraged them to discuss the best practices used in their separate IIM libraries.

Prof. Sivakumar S, Member, Library Committee, concluded the inaugural ceremony with a vote of thanks.
