Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ranchi is planning to establish a five year integrated MBA course. The course will be offered to Class XII or intermediate pass students to study an MBA course.
After IIM Indore to launch such courses, IIM Ranchi will be the second institute to offer an integrated program. On the other hand, all other IIMs offer Postgraduate MBA courses after graduation level.
A faculty member of IIM Ranchi stated, “IIM Ranchi from next academic session 2021-22 is going to launch a five year integrated MBA course. The course has been designed in such a way that students after completing the course will get both graduations as well as a postgraduate degree.”
“The course is divided into two parts. The first part is three years called the foundation while the second two years will focus entirely on management,” the faculty member added.

Meanwhile, IIM Ranchi is presently functioning from its transit campus Soochna Bhawan, while at its permanent campus at HEC, the work is still going on.
Additionally, the integrated program in management is a full five-year course which is equivalent to an MBA degree after finishing it. There will be a total of 15 terms in this management course.
Each term would be of three months duration. The entire course is divided into two parts. The first part of the three years would be known as the foundation. The next two years focus entirely on management as per the institute.

The course is a combination of management and social science. During the foundation years, candidates will get deeper insights into Sociology, Psychology, Literature, Fine Arts, Humanities, Maths, Economics, Statistics, and Political Science. Students need to undergo a social internship after successful completion of two years.
Apart from this, students are in favour of the decision of IIM management to establish a five-year integrated course in MBA. Sherya Shree, a Class XI student at Bridgeford School, revealed, “Students from the state will be benefited with the launch of five years integrated MBA course. Now a student like engineering and medicine can plan their career after completing XII studies.”
Furthermore, IIM Ranchi is ready to begin another course next year. The institute would commence the session for the business analytics course from June 2021, which would be a two-year MBA course.
On the other hand, IIM Ranchi is currently offering Ph.D. courses in MBA, MBA HR, and Management. Next year, MBA in Business Analytics will also be added to the list. It will ensure that the students gain basic and practical knowledge of analytics in the industry.
