IIM Lucknow Collaborates with ICSI to Promote Academic Excellence; Details Here


Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, (IIML) has collaborated with the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) to promote academic excellence in the areas of common interests, imparting knowledge and skills required to function in the field of academic programmes, research and training. 

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Prof Archana Shukla, Director, IIM Lucknow and AK Srivastava, Joint Secretary, ICSI on Friday as a part of the academic collaboration. 

The MoU was signed in the presence of many prominent members from IIM Lucknow, such as, Prof Arunabha Mukhopadhyay, Dean, Programmes, Prof Kshitiz Awasthi, head, IIML Centre for Public Policy, and Prof Seshadev Sahoo, Chairperson, post graduate programmes. 

ICSI, CS Atul Kumar Rawat, chairman, Lucknow Chapter, CS Abhishek Sinha, treasurer, Lucknow Chapter, CS Apurva Srivastava, and CS Gunjan Goel, secretary, Lucknow Chapter, were also present on the occasion.

Activities like continuing education and training programmes, jointly organizing seminars, workshops, corporate executives and faculty members, research scholars and students of both IIML and ICSI on topical themes and professional interests and similar academic programmes for practising professionals were broadly covered in the MoU. 

The MoU will facilitate exchange of faculty members, regular exchange of course materials, academic and research projects, case studies, and research publications. 

Talking about the partnership, Professor Archana Shukla, Director, IIM Lucknow, said that it's not just an MoU, but two like-minded institutions collaborating together through common objectives that would contribute in building the nation. 

Further, she said that India has everything except a clear skill set and by working together, both the institutions will nurture the educated youngsters who will be the leaders of tomorrow. 

AK Srivastava, Joint secretary, ICSI, said that the MoU would open a door full of opportunities for various stakeholders of both institutions which would be a milestone in itself. Also, the MoU puts forward the PM's vision of a stronger interface between different multi-faceted academic institutions. 

The MoU will help in participation in national and international conferences organized by both the institutions. It will extend assistance and cooperation in developing an academic curriculum and continuing education programmes on terms that may be mutually agreed such as joint meetings of curriculum development bodies/committees. 

Furthermore, the MoU will assist in organising programmes jointly to the training of trainers (ToT) for mutual benefit and advantage.
