New Delhi: Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Jammy has launched a leadership training programme titled "Effective Leadership for Branch Managers" for the Branch Heads of Jammu and Kashmir Bank at its Jammu and Srinagar campuses.
As per IIM Jammu, the training program was launched in the presence of faculty members from the institute and officers from the bank, Director IIM (Jammu) Professor B S Sahay and General Manager/Divisional Head Sunit Kumar of the Bank at Jammu's Old University Campus.
Professor Sahay praised J&K Bank for its contribution to development, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir, and claimed that the bank's share price's upward trend also speaks well of its performance on the market.
“I see these training programs as a significant platform for the exchange of information, experiences and insights between the two institutions”, he said. He gave GM Sunit Kumar, who served as the event's chief guest, a keepsake during the celebration.
General Manager Sunit Kumar had earlier welcomed the dignitaries at the start of the inaugural programme and said, "I feel delighted to be part of this inaugural event meant for training the officers of J&K Bank for leadership programmes".
He further shared that this event is translating an important part of the MoU between the two premier institutions of Jammu and Kashmir into action. Such initiatives will strengthen the connection between the two institutions even more.
In addition, he said, “With banking becoming a highly diversified and specialized domain requiring up-gradation in knowledge and skill set regularly, I am sure that the trainees would be fully equipped to meet new challenges of leadership in contemporary management so as to come up to the expectations of all our stakeholders.”
On the occasion, he praised the IIM Faculty's expertise and expressed his gratitude to the staff involved with the programme and best wishes to the trainee cohort. 40 Bank officers will attend the five-day leadership training programme at the IIM Jammu campuses in Srinagar and Jammu through January 20. 2023.
