IIM Jammu 5th Convocation: President of India to be the Chief Guest, 77 Female Students to Get Degrees


New Delhi: IIM Jammu is organising its fifth Annual Convocation today, June 9, 2022, at the Convention Centre, Gulami Bagh, Canal Road, Jammu. This year, 214 students will get an MBA degree. The event's main highlight is that 77 female students will be awarded the degrees.

The President of India, Ramnath Kovind is the chief guest of IIM Jammu 5th Convocation and will make the convocation address. As the Guest of Honour, Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister, and Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, will be present.

The event will have special guests Dr Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General, Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), and Ravi Kumar Narra, President, Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce (DICCI).

Dr Milind Kamble, Chairman of the Board of Governors of IIM Jammu, will preside over the event. Professor B S Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, will submit a report highlighting the institute's accomplishments.

Prof Sahay, Director, IIT Jammu said, “The convocation is a celebration of the graduation of students who earned their degrees with important learning during their MBA Programme, and the institute is keen on their live participation. We are very happy that President of India Ramnath Kovind has consented to grace the occasion and to address the graduating students.”

IIM Jammu will award meritorious students the Chairperson's Gold Medal, Director's Silver Medal, and Chairperson MBA Bronze Medal for their academic achievements. On this occasion, the President will also inaugurate the diversity cell at IIM Jammu.
