IIM Indore Collaborates with German Agency for Pandemic Preparedness; Read Full Story Here


May 26, 2021: IIM Indore has collaborated with the German Agency, The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ), German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) for a better pandemic preparedness understanding.

With the objective of tackling the business challenges faced by both Institutions in their sectors, both parties will work together in documenting, and researching their obstacles in this collaboration.

The documentation will include research activities, such as research papers, detailed case studies, along two book projects. The main goal of the documentation will be on capturing the finest and easiest solutions to challenges with the help of in-depth research.

Institute of Management, IIM Indore has also received a sum of ₹85.3 Lakhs in the collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ).

Referring to the collaboration between the two institutes, Prof Himanshu Rai, Director of IIM Indore said, “The overall research project relies on a mixed-method approach, integrating qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection and analysis".

"The results of this research will be instrumental in cross-sectoral learning and pandemic preparedness and in shaping health policies for sectoral pandemic readiness within India" he further added.

Expressing delight over the collaboration, Dr. Nishant Jain, the Program Director of the Indo-German Social Security Program stated that this partnership between the two institutes will help in developing insights that will be further useful in the field of policymakers.

"I am looking forward to some excellent knowledge products coming from this partnership between IIM, and GIZ BMZ," Dr. Nishant Jain further added.

During the collaboration, the institutes will work together on book projects, which will deal with the challenges faced by the industrial domains. The project will further research the actions that can help the industrial sector. 

The research paper will include the details of the working sector, such as employee experience in the industrial domains, and will be based on the interviews done with government and management officials.
