New Delhi: IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA) has successfully concluded the final placement phase of its one-year full-time post graduate programme in management for Executives (PGPX) at the end of May 2022.

A total of 119 students from the PGPX 2022 class of IIM-A have accepted offers from globally recognised companies across sectors. The final placement report was audited by an external agency and finalised in July 2022, the institute informed.

As against an average 44 recruitment in the last three years, the 2022 placements witnessed only 17 students opting for the IT sector jobs. The IT sector was the third top recruiter after consulting (41) and online services ( 24).
The median salary surged by 21% from INR 30 lakh annual maximum earning potential (MEP) for the past 3 years to INR 36.2 lakh.
The MEP for the PGPX graduates was three year low at INR 75.2 lakh in domestic placements. Earlier, in 2020 and 2021, the maximum package offered were INR 81 and 82 lakh respectively which were the highest packages since 2015.

Professor Ankur Sinha, the Chair of the Placement Committee, commented on the placements, saying that the institute has 100% success record placements for the PGPX Batch of 2022 in the history of 16 years of the program.
The outcome of the placement procedure amply reflects the program's excellence and the value that employers place on hiring the IIM-A students to fill open jobs at the mid- to senior-level.
He said that numerous foreign offers and an increase in strategic and growth jobs attest to the recruiters' confidence in the curriculum. The placement team's tenacity, fortitude, and dedication while working in a volatile environment due to the pandemic is admirable. He concluded by wishing the graduates great success in their future endeavours.
Approximately 62 companies visited the B-school to recruit students for their middle and senior management roles as part of this year's on-campus placement procedure.
International recruiting from the PGPX programme and hiring for consulting and product management roles both received immense attention this year.
The number of people hired for strategic and growth-oriented positions such as CEO, Ecosystem and Marketing Head, Vice President, Chief of Staff, Director, Young Leadership Programs, Program Head, Product Head, and others increased.
According to the official IIMA statement, Consulting firms hired up to 35% of the students from the batch, this year, making them the leading employer. Online services, information technology, and the BFSI sectors came next, bringing on 20%, 14%, and 9% of the students, respectively. Google, Microsoft, and Amazon are just a few employers.
Expressing his happiness, Sitakant Tripathy, PGPX Recruitment Secretary added that the IIMA’s PGPX Class of 2022 has completed its placement season on a high note.
The program's emphasis on developing leaders for an altering corporate environment is reaffirmed by this year's placements. The high numbers speak for the program's strength and the value employers place on hiring students from this programme, he said.
The institute noticed an increase in hiring abroad with consulting, e-commerce, and other online services being the highest recruiting sectors.
Further, the institute has a balanced mix of new and returning recruiters from various industries and regions. The institute is honoured by the organisations' continuous confidence in the PGPX cohort, and there's no doubt that PGPX graduates will continue to excel in all of the roles and responsibilities they take on.
Some of the top-notch companies participated in the IIMA placement process were BCG SEA (South-East Asia), BCG India, Bain, PwC, McKinsey, EY-Parthenon, Monitor Deloitte, Eques Capital, Adani Digital, Arthur D. Little, Amazon, Microsoft, Google, OLA Electric, Magicpin, UBS, Lenskart, Simplilearn, Accenture, Indegene, FinIQ, Genpact, Persistent, ElasticRun, Decimal Technologies, Pravaig, Gujarat Gas, Flipkart, Skit.ai.
Among these prominent companies, Accenture made the highest number of offers followed by Adani Digital. These companies made a total of 172 offers to 121 students who participated.
The institute reported that this year, four members of the batch decided to pursue entrepreneurship and pursue their ideas under the direction and mentorship of CIIE.CO, which was established at IIMA.
